    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: RenRen Shavette
    Blade: Perma-Sharp
Brush: Wolf Whiskers 24 mm Maggard Tux Synthetic
    Lather: PAA Boomtown Bay Rum
    Aftershave: PAA Boomtown Bay Rum
    Additional Care:
    Barbero Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Love this bay rum scent. The iced water shave is preparing the face for an invigorating shave. The addition of the brush scuttle, filled with ice cubes and water, engages the brush and lather to remain extremely cold. Love that feeling on the face. Definitely keeps you awake.

The PAA soap made a fantastic lather in thickness and glissade. I decided to use the shavette today and it delivered a super smooth shave with no issues within the three pass shave.

The aftershave and balm complimented each other. The post shave feel was excellent.

    Have a great day gentlemen.

    Shavette Shave #64

    Gear
    • Razor: Max Headroom Focus R21 Shavette
    • Blade: Gillette 7 O’clock green (1)--somehow I managed to put 2 of these in Paul, the blade box of mystery. Without thinking, I loaded it up and started shaving before I realized, “I’ve used this blade already!” Great blade, smooth and sharp; like most of the Russian blades I’ve tried, if this was the only blade I could use, I’d be fine with it
    • Brush: Stirling Finest Badger
    • Soap: Stirling Iced Pineapple meets Texas on Fire (6 Frost Drops)--I went half and half on the soap content, and ToF still drops into the background; it’s so bizarre.
    • Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops
    • AS: Clubman Original (2 Frost Drops--Menthol Monday!)
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented

    The Shave
I forgot what shaving at 5:00 AM is like--it’s exactly like giving a zombie a razor blade. I did the standard 3 pass shave today (WTG, XTG, ATG) and woke myself up with an insanely stupid set down during my WTG pass on my left cheek. It added some much needed gravitas to my next two passes. They went without any drama.

I’ve gotten pretty good at the XTG pass along my cheeks now, which is fortunate because I’ll probably be avoiding a WTG stroke on my left side for a day or so.

The final, ATG, pass went very well, and with a bit of touching up on the chin has left me on the BBS side of a BBS/DFS--no irritation. Not even a sting along the set down when I applied the Clubman. Perhaps the double dose of menthol from my Frost Drops acted as an anesthetic, but three hours later, I am smooth and irritation-free

These curriculum push-out days are grueling, and I’ve been asked to finish the rest of the semester by the end of today. Very likely I won’t be catching up with you all till tomorrow. Till then, crush your Monday! :D

    64 down, 36 to go!

Texas On Fire appears to be hot soap of choice for the mix work.

I almost went with Proraso Green myself this morning. Nice choice.
Very nice, Joe! I'm a fan of Boomtown myself.
Other than the set down error, awesome shave!

Thank you Jim! It is a nice soap. It is so easy to lather and it really does smell nice. The only downside is that the scent doesn't linger.

Great photo and post Jason. I’ve noticed the same thing with Zenith brushes. Honestly working remotely means longer hours for me.
