So....The family lounge on our floor of the hospital has a patient food freezer stocked with all kinds of...wait for it...ice cream, sherbet, and fruit-flavored frozen ice treats. The same gal that stocks the freezer also brings food trays to Kathy's room. Every time she comes in to see Kathy, I raise my voice like I'm irritated and demand, "well, what did you bring me?" She's very polite and doesn't really know how to tell me to get a life, go out, and pay for my lunch. After she leaves, I sneak over and raid the family lounge ice cream freezer she just stocked.

One day I see her in the family lounge. She's telling me there's a shortage of apple sauce cups, and they're having to scramble a little. I look her straight in the eye and say, "don't talk to me about apple sauce, just let me know if we start to run short of ice cream!"
By my count, this gal has provided me with about 100 meals, 682 frozen deserts, 393 soft drinks, and 63 gallons of coffee over the last few weeks.

I could write a book on the daily verbal abuse I share with the sweet lady that drives the Mayo patient shuttle. Kathy told me to "chill" the other day as I was "shouting" from the back of the bus.
All in good fun.
