So glad to hear things are getting better. I'm hoping the two of you get home soon. Continued prayers my friend.

Our doc is a polite (and brilliant) man. He always treats Kathy with respect and gives her the best of care. I could not ask for more. He's just not wired for humor, and that's totally fine. My inner child sometimes causes me to have a little fun. I thrive on eye rolls. I also teased him about dressing up for us...as I'm sitting there in short pants and a t-shirt. As you can imagine, they're about to run me out of town. :)

It may be that doctors, especially oncologists are trained to be more stoic when dealing with patients that have sub-optimal prognosises. I am sure they have outlets to destress from their jobs. However, there was a pediatric oncologist who instilled laughter to his young patients. His name was Dr. Patch Adams.

So....The family lounge on our floor of the hospital has a patient food freezer stocked with all kinds of...wait for it...ice cream, sherbet, and fruit-flavored frozen ice treats. The same gal that stocks the freezer also brings food trays to Kathy's room. Every time she comes in to see Kathy, I raise my voice like I'm irritated and demand, "well, what did you bring me?" She's very polite and doesn't really know how to tell me to get a life, go out, and pay for my lunch. After she leaves, I sneak over and raid the family lounge ice cream freezer she just stocked. :) One day I see her in the family lounge. She's telling me there's a shortage of apple sauce cups, and they're having to scramble a little. I look her straight in the eye and say, "don't talk to me about apple sauce, just let me know if we start to run short of ice cream!"

By my count, this gal has provided me with about 100 meals, 682 frozen deserts, 393 soft drinks, and 63 gallons of coffee over the last few weeks. :eatdrink020::eatdrink023:

And I could write a book on the daily verbal abuse I share with the sweet lady that drives the Mayo patient shuttle. Kathy told me to "chill" the other day as I was "shouting" from the back of the bus.

All in good fun. These are all such sweet people. I told them I'd be back after COVID-19 is a done deal to hug them all. :)

Well, that's a tough question to answer, as some guys can really stretch out the longevity of their blades. I can get about 15 great shaves from a Personna 74 and 20-25 great shaves from a Wilkinson Light Brigade. We have all read escapades of some fellow getting 100 shaves from a single blade.
The Sharp Stars are excellent Russian blades, that, imo, surpass Gillette Blues and Platinums, while being "slightly" better than Voskhod.
I'll tell you what, tomorrow, I will break open a new SS blade and give the old longevity test. Then we'll see what's what.

I was not that generous, Jeff. Gary forked out his own moola for these blades.

200...:scared003: and I have another 100 coming from Bulgaria. Remember the canceled ebay sale? Well, they can ship to the USA again and the seller reached out to me. 100 Sharp Stars for $25. When they arrive, my SS stash will be around 390.

I am sure your in-laws were the "life" of the party and didn't bring their work with them because they dealt with too many stiff upper lips.

Well, work is busy right now, and I haven't been able to post much at all this month. But, I've stayed true to my focus and concentrated on Stirling's Glacial Lemony Orange. Tonight it bit the dust.

Always satisfying to finish off a soap tub. Just in time, too, as I found a set of Catie's Bubbles Porch Drinks on a BST and nabbed it up. It should arrive this week. One out and one in.

    Hope everyone is doing well!

Congrats on finishing the Stirling Glacial Lemony Orange Perry! I know the feeling because I finished off the Stirling Sandalwood earlier this month!
