Thanks Charlie. The pioneer is a very versatile tool as well. I'm looking at buying a Spartan next .

My daily carry for months is an old Camillus camp knife. It has the same features as that one. A man should always carry a pocket knife, and a boy if he can be trusted with it. Girls too.

A few months back I gave my big retriever Buck to a friend with a large yard and other dogs like him, so he's much happier than being cooped up in my apartment. But I got the dog itch again so we went to the shelter yesterday.

This was a sad, withdrawn dog who s-l-o-w-l-y warmed to us (through the bars) over the 2+ hours we waited to see her...me smuggling a pork rind to her helped. The cage tag only said "pitbull mix" but I'm not seeing much pit apart from some brindle stripes and maybe the shape of the upper head. But she's on the small side and all agree she looks like she's maybe pit crossed with Jack Russell. What an odd combo that would be.

Anyway, she's done a 180 since being sprung. A tail-wagging velcro sweetie and pretty smart. Her inexplicable original name, Devil, is now Daisy.

Weird thing...we haven't once heard her bark, not at the pound and not here either.

@gorgo2 enjoy your new best friend!

    I shot a new personal best today- 281/300 @ 20 yards.
Also, I got the results from the Mid-Atlantic shoot. I came in 3rd in my shooting class. (That sounds a lot more impressive if you don’t know how many shooters there were in that class; I’ll give you one guess.)

I hiked the trails at "Petit Jean National Park", in Arkansas, all day yesterday, with the wife and daughter. You dont realize how old you really are, until you hike all day, with a 14 year old that runs track, and navigates rocks like a Billy Goat. On the plus side, not a sore muscle or joint, this morning. Even after racing her up a few boulder trails.

You're not old until you can't get out of bed the next morning.:)

So far this morning I took the 5+ pounds of corned beef brisket and stuck it in a large pot, poured two cans of beer in there and topped it off with water, added the flavor packet and it's now simmering for the next 4 and 1/2 hours. I'll add some potatoes and carrots and lastly some cabbage. I have a loaf of soda bread to go with it. And I'll wash it all down with a can of Guinness draft. Yum. Happy St. Patricks day folks!

I pulled a rotted fence post out, and replaced it. And I did it with hand tools. No battery or extension cord in sight. :)

I did some maintenance on the ROOMBA with nothing but a 45 year-old Swiss Army knife.

Trout fishing is on my future hobby list, when I retire. What area of the country do you do your fishing??

I’m in Maryland. We actually just returned from fishing again this morning. I’ll post pictures later today. Maryland is a fisherman’s paradise. Plenty of freshwater, and saltwater fishing.

Sorry everyone, but I forgot to get pictures of the 6 trout my son and myself caught this morning.
My son, did land this fish Monday afternoon. It’s his biggest trout yet, and bigger than any I’ve ever landed.
