What Manly Things Did You Do Today?

I hiked the trails at "Petit Jean National Park", in Arkansas, all day yesterday, with the wife and daughter. You dont realize how old you really are, until you hike all day, with a 14 year old that runs track, and navigates rocks like a Billy Goat. On the plus side, not a sore muscle or joint, this morning. Even after racing her up a few boulder trails.

 

You're not old until you can't get out of bed the next morning.

 

So far this morning I took the 5+ pounds of corned beef brisket and stuck it in a large pot, poured two cans of beer in there and topped it off with water, added the flavor packet and it's now simmering for the next 4 and 1/2 hours. I'll add some potatoes and carrots and lastly some cabbage. I have a loaf of soda bread to go with it. And I'll wash it all down with a can of Guinness draft. Yum. Happy St. Patricks day folks!

Went trout fishing early this morning with my son. Had a great time, and had some great luck. Tomorrow nights dinner, is going to be awesome!

I did some maintenance on the ROOMBA with nothing but a 45 year-old Swiss Army knife.

 

Trout fishing is on my future hobby list, when I retire. What area of the country do you do your fishing??

I’m in Maryland. We actually just returned from fishing again this morning. I’ll post pictures later today. Maryland is a fisherman’s paradise. Plenty of freshwater, and saltwater fishing.

 

Upgraded the Bar sign now time too fill some Stout into the Cornelius Ceg.

Sorry everyone, but I forgot to get pictures of the 6 trout my son and myself caught this morning.
My son, did land this fish Monday afternoon. It’s his biggest trout yet, and bigger than any I’ve ever landed.

I acid-etched a glass bottle for my homemade Teriyaki sauce.

 

That's COOL!

 

Well done! I need to learn a couple new skill, like etching and creating a sauce recipe. I’ve been collecting the Safeway/Albertsons booze-themed BBQ sauce bottles that look like pint flasks. I have no idea what I’m going to fill them with, but they’re clean and ready.

 

That’s much bigger than any trout I’ve landed! I’d be grinning ear to ear regardless of age.
