Right. I want to see one that shows it was sold with the rivets in 38 after Gillette stopped using the rivets on the Aristocrat after 37.
My search engine isn't sophisticated enough to understand " rivets "but I'll do a quick look....nah not finding good pictures. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
The change to the tabs happened on all the Gillette 1pc razors in 1938 with or right around the introduction of the Senator razor ahead of Fathers Day in May of 1938. https://theshaveden.com/forums/thre...-tto-open-comb-discussion-thread.50554/page-6 Any Sheratons or Aristocrats made earlier than that in 1938 should still be riveted.
Since I already own this NOS Schick № 20 "Type B1" Repeating Razor injector set... ...I just had to have this matching NOS full blades set to go with it: I honestly did not think I would win this auction. I figured this set of blades would have went for at least $100 or more. I figure the timing had a lot to do with it, ending at 7:30 PM on a Friday night. Not complaining. Awesome score! More pics when the blades arrive.
Thank you Jorge! It really has been a good week, yes? Honestly I had not even realized it in those terms. You are definitely correct sir! Big smiles all around! Sidenote: Do you need the Aristocrat case I have no use for? I meant to ask you that yesterday... It's a PIF if you do.
So here's a nice little piece of kit I won... Not as fancy as the 1930s Foldabrush sets and having a toothbrush instead of a folding badger shaving brush, but none the less a neat little travel kit from the 1940s. One tube held dental brushing powder inside as well as serves as the handle for the toothbrush head and for the Gillette Tech razor head pieces and also serves as the plunger for the other tube which the owner would fill with their favorite shaving cream.
If you didnt… i was going to . I know how much williams fanboy and cultist u are so i had to give first dibs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
so the tooth paste powder goes through the brush and makes toothpaste… and you use shave cream lather from tubes like those vintage gillette and modern proraso .. but does that come out from the razor or does the metal tube just hold the cream and its a travel container?
Thanks, it will be a backup for me unless I weaken and pif it to somebody I have in mind that likes Williams as much as me or more.
You pour the toothpaste powder from the toothbrush/razor handle onto the tooth brush - or in your hand if you want to lather it into a paste with some water. You use the toothpaste powder/tooth brush/razor handle as a plunger to push shaving cream out of the shaving cream tube onto your shaving brush or into your hand or into a mug or bowl.
