I finally got these wood shave bowls cleaned, applied a few coats of matte clear and added the soaps. Top row was easy, nuked and poured. L-R: Dirty Deeds Green Tweed, Love My Skin Hawaiian Sandalwood and Love My Skin Barbershop 1920's. Bottom: Vintage Williams tallow soap: grated, pressed and added hot water on top to smooth it out, pressed some more, then drained of excess water.
i recently found one at the local value village.someone wrinkle painted it..it will need a thorough sanding to bring it back to original.future project..
Two more vintage wood shave bowls cleaned, matte clear coated and soap added. L-R: Yardley with Love My Skin Tobacco & Bay Leaf and Ascot with Dr. Jon's Savannah Sunrise......... Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
This is my latest batch of vintage shave bowls with soaps added to them. Top, L - R: Victory Shaving "Champaign Lady" (Lemon - Lavender - Menthol), Regiment "Bravura" ("bold, fresh, and clean with a touch of spice and orange zest"), Victory Shaving "Navigator" (Sandalwood). Bottom, L - R: American Gentlemen "Pineapple Express", American Gentlemen "Lavender", Mama Bears "Obsessed" (Calvin Klein Obsession).
Not exactly new shave bowls, just moving a couple of soaps around. The original bowl for the Monsavon is pretty flimsy, so I transferred it to the jar that originally had Vin Yulay "When October Goes" because I wanted one that had a screw top. And the Vin Yulay soap went into a Proraso container. And then I printed up the labels from images on the net and put them on. Using clear packing tape to protect them.............
