What Manly Things Did You Do Today?

Yes, I bought a drill press vise along with the drill press.

 

Played with the drill press again. I drilled holes in some hard-rock maple blocks to make them into pen stands. I will have some sanding & painting to do, so pics when they are finished.

 

Why would you paint Maple?

These are wooden alphabet blocks (in Hebrew) so they already have some painted surfaces. I have to drill holes on surfaces that had painted images, now incomplete (due to the aforementioned holes.). So I just painted over that side of the blocks.

 

Went to the gun range today. Using a Ruger Mark IV, blew out the center of my target at 5 yards.

 

I'm hoping decent weather and my free time coincide a bit more frequently than they did last year. I'd like to get out on the range more this year.
Yeah, I go to an outdoor range at Ft Dix. $45 yearly membership for retired military, only $12 for two hours. Most indoor ranges around here $300+ for membership, plus range fees.
