Actually I don’t do that many, but it’s kind of like a mechanic’s car never runs, a carpenter’s house is never repaired, and an accountant’s own taxes are never done! :)

A polyp was removed and the appointment was going over the biopsy, benign. I'll need to have scopes done again at 3 and six months to check for recurrence. I'll be awake for those follow up scopes, not fun but better than the alternatives.

Went for an EMG for my neck and arms this morning.

@Enrico what were the results? (I’ve had EMG’s; they’re no fun.)

I got a drill press & learned to use it.

I bet you guys are really glad I’m not a doctor!

But seriously, the drill press is kind of fun.

26 years ago I had lost all strength in my right arm due to a crushed disc between my 5-6 cervical vertebra. The issue was corrected with the a discectomy and fusion of the 5-6 vertebra. Over the past 6-9 months what started out as mild weakness in my right arm has escalated into severe pain in both arms into my hands, headaches and neck pain. The EMG was to rule out nerve damage between my neck and to my hands ..... the test came back normal as I expected. I had already had a MRI and X-rays that showed arthritis, narrowed spinal cannel and impeded branching nerves. I go back to my neurosurgeon 4/1 to weigh my options ......... I fully expect neck surgery in in my future.

I'm not looking forward to it, but in grand scheme of things I'm very blessed.

Used the drill press to drill larger holes into a dozen wooden thread spools. I needed to do this, so they would fit onto an adapter. The adapter makes it possible to transfer thread from the large economy-size spools (called thread cones) to regular sized ones. The small ones are a lot easier to take with me for classes & workshops.

It was an interesting task as A)my experience with drill presses is finite and B)this is a min-drill press made for miniatures & other craft projects. Being small, its vertical range is limited & I had to learn to work with that.

    I rather enjoyed it.

Try being a penguin. Then you'll know what limited vertical range is.:sad024:

I tried it, but it didn’t last. By the end of the 7th grade, I was already too tall.

You may have found out already, but use a squeeze clamp to hold the round spools while drilling them out. Sometimes the drill bit can take hold of round items and burn your hands from the friction. The clamp holding them horizontally can give your hands better grip of your work.

As I said you may already know this, but a drill press vise also works well with cushioned pads.

    :)
