August 23 Head and Face Shave

Good afternoon.

Beard Growth: 3.25 Days
Dome Turf: 6 Days



Did a 3 pass shave on the dome and a 2 passer on the face and neck. The result was a cueball smooth dome and a BBS shave on the face and neck. However, did get a chin weeper. The Super Max blade feels like it's not cutting the beard, but it is quite efficient. I would say it's sharp, but very smooth.
Did get Alum feedback on my neck and nape. Finished with my usual post shave routine. I will reply to all your posts later this evening. Take care.

I had this I can't feel the blade cutting issue yesterday of my original era of modern King C Gillette blade from 2020 and why I had the cut on my moustache. Still a great shave. I always take Saturday or Sunday off from shaving unless I have to go to work then I pick my day off or a very short work day.

 

I will just check with the judges waiting on a decision………

Cold wet flannel to my face.
Pears Transparent Bar Soap.
Brush: Anbbas 24mm Tuxedo synthetic.
Face Lather.
Lather: Ach Brito Mogno Shaving Soap.
Blade: Lord Shark Super Stainless. (D2)
Razor: Baili BD 191.

Post:
Cold Water Face Rinse./Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's,/Cold Water Face Rinse /Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.5 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Nivea Men Creme./ Milton Lloyd Essentials No.17 EdP.

Relaxing Sunday Morning Shave.

I really like the Ach Brito Mogno Shaving Soap it creates a nice creamy slick protective lather in a short space of time. The residual slickness is excellent leaving a superb post-shave making my mature skin feel soft & moisturized after the shave.

Finishing the shave off with a few small squirts of Milton Lloyd Essentials No.15 EdP to the pulse points.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

Found a good discount on the Gillette Lab at the Shaver Shop last week

After @Trigger Joe’s comment earlier about the Schick M1 behaving like a cartridge razor, and previously inspired by post by @ischiapp, I bit the bullet and took the Gillette home

Cold water prep
Derby Menthol into the moistened Pura Setola
Face lathered, adding more cold water as needed

2 very interesting passes with the Gillette Lab (2025 !)

Almost cleaned up after the 1st pass
2nd pass left me practically BBS both ways

This razor reacts differently obviously because of the mobile head and five blades, but so far I am impressed. This one might convert me back to cartridges, or at the very least be good for travel shaves. Quick and easy.

I had a surprisingly good post shave feel: I must have been underestimating the Derby shave cream which, in the past I have only been using it as a pre-shave. Or maybe it was the “slime strip” quoted in the above thread?

It will be interesting to see how long this cartridge razor stays sharp.

Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal
ASL = Clubman Reserve Whiskey woods

No damage, no half point deductions

As close to a 10 as I could possibly get, I guess. Must say I am suprised

Still counts for wet shaving though!
