I'd rank it ahead of any in the super speed family, but you are correct that it doesn't come close to beating a slant. If only Merkur would put the level of craftsmanship that EJ/Muhle does with their razors, they would be unmatched.

    +1

I wasn't meaning to compare it to a Superspeed, I just have a Voshkod loaded in my SS and wanted to kill it before I switched razors and just lack the discipline to finish off the Voshkod in the SS and have a thing about switching out blades into different razors (no disrespect Steve ;) it just ain't my way).

    Voskhod (5)
    EJ BBB
    MWF
    Nivea Sensitive balm
    Master Lilac Vegetal

I'm afraid I don't have the skill and enough of a steady hand to use the slant regularly, just too much irritation on my neck for my tastes. (Any irritation is too much irritation). I'm going back to the EJ.

    Saturday:

    Omega Wooden Handle
    Super Speed/Rapira day 4

    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
    Booster Polar Ice AS :love008 :love008 :love008 :love008
    JHL Cologne

This shave was so enjoyable in every way. The Noxzema cream really is my absolute favorite because it's so cooling, it lathers perfectly, I love the scent, and it takes such good care of my skin. The Rapiras are also my absolute favorite blades presently. ;) :D

Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Razor: 1967 Gillette Slim Adjustable
    Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
    Brush: Simpson Emperor 2
    Soap: Proraso Classic
A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Proraso Splash

It's going to be hot today--and also steamy if we get the rain that has been predicted. That called for a Proraso shave to start my day. The shave was great and extra refreshing, with the 44 year old Slim performing superbly.

    Merkur Vision / Perma-Sharp blade/ MWF/Ever-ready Brush with #6 horsehair knot/ Clubman

    sos222day.jpg
My SOTD has become so boring since I started using the Vision. I just can't seem to put it down. The Perma-Sharp blade has been in over a week, I hand stropped it today, just because it's getting old. I don't know if it makes a difference, but it's still delivering smooth sharp shave. These are really long lasting blades, I've heard it's very similar to the legendary Iridiums ?

    Great Shaves today, Gentlemen
