I'd rank it ahead of any in the super speed family, but you are correct that it doesn't come close to beating a slant. If only Merkur would put the level of craftsmanship that EJ/Muhle does with their razors, they would be unmatched.
+1 I wasn't meaning to compare it to a Superspeed, I just have a Voshkod loaded in my SS and wanted to kill it before I switched razors and just lack the discipline to finish off the Voshkod in the SS and have a thing about switching out blades into different razors (no disrespect Steve it just ain't my way).

Friday Merkur 37c Voskhod (5) EJ BBB MWF Nivea Sensitive balm Master Lilac Vegetal I'm afraid I don't have the skill and enough of a steady hand to use the slant regularly, just too much irritation on my neck for my tastes. (Any irritation is too much irritation). I'm going back to the EJ.

The Noxzema cream really is my absolute favorite because it's so cooling, it lathers perfectly, I love the scent, and it takes such good care of my skin. The Rapiras are also my absolute favorite blades presently.

Merkur Vision / Perma-Sharp blade/ MWF/Ever-ready Brush with #6 horsehair knot/ Clubman My SOTD has become so boring since I started using the Vision. I just can't seem to put it down. The Perma-Sharp blade has been in over a week, I hand stropped it today, just because it's getting old. I don't know if it makes a difference, but it's still delivering smooth sharp shave. These are really long lasting blades, I've heard it's very similar to the legendary Iridiums ? Great Shaves today, Gentlemen
