1. TUESDAY
    Day 2 of Cream Week

Pre: Hot shower, Shea Moisture Face Scrub, homemade Citrus PSO
    Razor: Merkur Futur (set@5.5)
    Brush: Lijun Silvertip
Lather: Taylor of Old Bond Street (TOBS) Lavender cream; Scuttle-warmed
    Shave: Two passes, plus touch-up*
Post: Cold water rinse, Alum block, 4711 Aftershave, Shea balm
    Pain Meds: 800mg Ibuprofun

I am not a fan of this cream. The scent is okay, but the lather I generate from this is simply thin and lacking the 'slickness' I get from other creams (Pacific, Speik, Proraso, Mem)—even with using the Lijun brush—which normally makes generating mounds of whipped lather rather easy. :prrr:
The Futur, nearly 'wide-open', is great for the two-pass/BBS shave. It rivals the R41 in blade feel, but slightly more forgiving than the Mühle.
    Have a great Tuesday, all!

  2. In terms of aggressiveness, I find all the Gillette Techs to be rather mild—especially the ball-end models. One of my favorite vintage Gillettes is the Fat-Handle Tech—which has always given me great shaves. Sure, it requires at least 3 passes, plus touch up. But its such an easy razor to get a great shave from—well-balanced & designed.

  3. Tuesday
    hot shower
    Duke 3 in best
    Proraso PSC
TOBS Lemon & Lime SC (cream week)
    Muhle R41 "Fang"/Super-Max Sunrise (2)
    warm water rinse
    Monster Block Alum :angry021:
    cold water rinse
    Thayer's Lemon WH
HBG Key Lime ASL mixed with a pea sized amount of 444

Today's shave was a bit too close no weepers, but I do feel some razor burn,I may use a lil Skin Gel later in the day.I thought I had used a very light touch,in fact after my second pass I decided to head shave with the R41.The head shave went very smooth,no head weepers, but when I applied the alum :angry021:.It may be the blades,so far I'm not feeling the love from the Sunrise,my next shave will be with a Tech/Sunrise combo, tho it may be a few days before I can shave,LOL!!!
  4. Tuesday

    Clear Essentials unscented glycerin soap
    TSD unscented wheat shaving cream
    HIS synthetic brush
    Vintage Bakelite slant
    Astra SP blade
    Cold water rinse
    CeraVe lotion

The passes, very smooth comfortable shave.

  5. I think if my beard was just a bit more coarse and stood up a little more I could get away with using a Tech. As wonderful as the Techs are in both form and function they tend to glide right over my thin whiskers which seem to lay very flat against my skin especially on the neck and cheeks. I have considered using a Tech so I can shave every day but I can't get comfortable with still feeling stubble after several passes. That being said, I really enjoyed the Fat Handle today so much so that I might PIF my Ball Ends and just keep the Fat Handle for display and an occasional shave.

5/8 Geo Wostenholm Pipe Razor, Full Hollow, Round Point
    Proraso PSC
    Speick SC
    GT G4 Scuttle
    Caswell Massey Badger
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Royal Copenhagen Musk ASL

A very light and clean feeling shave this morning with the Speick SC and the Royal Copenhagen. I really like this combination. My supply of the RC is getting pretty low so I'll have to pick up another bottle on the next supply order. The little Wosty performed wonderfully and is a pleasure to use. :shaver

    Dove Men's Face Wash
Col. Conk Bay Rum Shave Soap
    Parker Pure Badger
    GEM Micromatic Bullet-Tip
    GEM Super Stainless
    CWR
    Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS
I've been fighting a little cold lately, so my daily shave is the highlight of my day. Today was Col. Conk's time to serve. The Parker badger brush did a good job of face-lathering for the two passes with my MMBT razor with Gem SS blade. A few touch-ups on the neck made this a near BBS shave. The Thayers Cucumber WH and Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS were just the thing to finish off this therapeutic experience.
  19. Razor: '62 Slim
    Blade: Voskhod (3)
    Brush: Homemade Silvertip
    Soap: Stirling Glacial
    Shave: Two passes
    Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman
Lots of slick, cold lather but I have irritation on the jawbone from attempting to get a BBS. Got the BBS, but I'm not sure it was worth it. Guess I need to invest in a bottle of witch hazel. Putting on the Clubman was a near religious event with all the irritation.
