    Home-made soap by @maltedmilk

    Dove Men's Face Wash
    “1914” American Druggist Recipe
    Made Rite Boar Brush
    1914 Ever-Ready
    GEM Super Stainless
    CWR
    Thayers Cucumber WH
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Today, I face-lathered a soap by @maltedmilk called "1914 American Druggist Recipe." Using my Made Rite boar brush, I loaded for 30+ seconds. I got airy lather that disipated before the pass was over. It was slick though but not too friendly to my skin. I did two passes with my Ever-Ready 1914 and Gem Super Stainless blade giving me a close, audible shave. After my cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. I had intended to give this soap three chances, but I think one will do it. Tomorrow I will try the IdC. It has more promise.

I am going to use the WTG-XTG-ATG method again. I have used it everyday this past week and it seems to be working well for me. Yesterday Monday , I did not get a "Rudy Castiel Clean Used Car" aka Rudy Castiel Clean Shave. Using this method so why change, what works. I did get a DFS,on Monday Morning, so why change. I did not get a BBS Shave if I do say so myself. To get my DFS shave I had to make 4 passes. I did change the Razor that I was using from my Weber 3pc 85mm W/Classic Handle to my Above the Tie Atlas M-1, although I had no "Nick's and Weeper's" so the use of the Alum Block was not needed or warranted. I do like the cooling effect of the Alum Block, or Witch Hazel. So I may put some on, again tomorrow morning. I will use the razor for the next couple of days, and see if it's just because I am not used to using this Razor as compared to my Weber.
I wonder if anyone else is thinking about a "No-Buy August"?

    TUESDAY
    Late Monday Night Shave
Early start in the A.M. means a late night Monday eve shave. An easy 3-pass shave with the Beau Brummel—a smoooooth shaver–just like its cousin, the Dubl Duck.
The alum block revealed no tender spots so all in all, a great way to end the day,

    Have a blessed Tuesday, everyone!

    Prep: hot shower
    Razor: Slim Twist
    Blade: Treet Platinum (day 2)
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: Col Conk lime
    Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG)
    Post: Dove men hydrate+

Yesterday I decided that I have too many "better" tools to have to deal with unpleasant shaves, so I moved the Treet Platinum over to the slim twist.

The Col Conk exploded into a nice lather almost as soon as the brush hit the puck. Once it got to mu face, the lather was nicely refreshing and offered great glide. The first pass was significantly more comfortable then with yesterday's Aristocrat. There was some sting when I rinsed before the second pass however... the second pass went smoother then the first, but again there was stinging with the cold water rinse.

I finished with Dove men hydrate+, a nice balm the a don't use as often as I should.

So, do I tuff it out with the Treet Platinum, or move on to a different blade?

    Wonderful Shave
My second use of the Regent resulted in the best shave I've had in a while. Super smooth and easy with no weepers or irritation. This razor cuts noisily through my stubble with its easy to find angle and balanced feel. Even though this handle is not original, it seems made for it.
Frost_Byte is very refreshing, I could easily use this soap exclusively, though I would miss my beloved Tabac. I finished with Synergy Bay Rum Tonic for a nice scent and pleasant extension of the cool.

    Prep: Burt's Bees Face Wash
    Soap: HTGAM Synergy Frost_Byte
    Brush: Plisson Synthetic
Razor: Gillette Regent with bar handle

What a nice and smooth shave this was - it's been a long time I haven't used my Gada Cool Mint cream so I decided to go with it today, and I'm glad I did. Lots of rich, stable lather with a nice minty/lemony scent and plenty of menthol. Talking about menthol, the Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel gave me such a freeze after my shave which felt awesome. My Rapira blade knocked off my tough stubble so effortlessly and comfortably. ;) :D

    Thank you so much, Jeff!
I didn't figure it out at first, but after I googled the phrase, I understood. "Eid Mubarak" is an Arabic phrase. We say "Ramazan Bayramın mübarek olsun", "hayırlı bayramlar" or "iyi bayramlar" in Turkey.
    Appreciated, my friend :)

Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Scots Pine Bath Soap
Soap: Cold River Soap Works-Bergamot & Bay

    Brush: oscar11 TGN 2-Band Finest-24mmx50mm
    Aftershave: Fine Italian Citrus

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

My first outing with a Cold River Soap Works shave soap. I ordered the Bergomot & Bay soft verson. The scent is spectacular, as manly as they come. It produced quick, easy, thick, cushioning lather. The Slim and GSB breezed on to a smooth, close, nick free shave. I finished up with Fine Italian Citrus. It is the 2nd generation with additional menthol and was discontinued, at least temporarily. The other Fine AS have just been redone with less menthol this time.

Received a huge chuck of KK as a PIF from Dale (thanks again Dale) and a great shave today with this highly regarded light scented shave soap. Light Rose aroma that was pleasant unlike the heavy scented Rose my dad used of yesteryear. Easy to lather and though not the slick post shave feel I get from my current favorite Tiki Soap, the iKon paired with a SB was quite smooth with this soap and received a BBS in two passes. I now see why and can confirm for myself this is a mighty fine German shave soap.
