What did we learn from our last shaves?

With proper technique, I can shave ATG.

 

Today I used Williams puck for my SR shave I am seeing it to be a water hog so far I believe arko is a better soap for myself.

30 day rule was one of the best things I ever did. It developed my technique, and put the brakes on my acquisition disorders.

This took a while for me as I was having too much fun trying new things, but it is definitely the way to go when you calm down.

Shave #2 with the Arko was sublime. I think I will be getting 2 pass BBS shaves with this stuff by about day 15. It definitely seems worth investing a month.

Twenty eight more to go, then on to the Razorock.

I hate to say it, but all of the chatter about MDC is starting to stick in my head. At least I have 58 days to save up

Good job dude IMHO that less is better I just sold some inexpensive straights and some barber's hones kept the better straights and one quality B.hone. I c can look for a nice vintage shaver for restore.

 

Being the enabling ....err a supportive type of guy, the exchange rates right now are very favorable. 10-15 bucks cheaper even adding in the shipping to buy from France than the supplier here in the USA....at least that's how I justified it to myself.....

More than two passes and im risking some irritation.

 

I learnt that being consistent in using one razor for the whole week was quite rewarding as I was able to pick up small differences from a different soap and/or angle. I felt as if I was educating myself more about the razor than what I normally do hopping from razor to razor

I'm really enjoying my self-imposed "1 razor - 1 week" this year.

 

I learned that worrying about the details of wetshaving is a near total waste of time. When it comes to shaving, just do it and move on to the rest of the day.

 

That Gillette Silver Blue blades are good for 4 comfortable shaves only before they bite me.

 

Blue Personna blades give me a great shave in my 39c.

 

I realized while even in a hurry I can get a DFS shave. Had time restraints today so I could meet the wife for lunch and about twenty minutes til I had to leave I said to myself, Do I have time to shave or not?. I really didnt want to wait til after I got back home to shave so I went for it. Using the usual gear iKon Standard, Astra SP (day 4 cause I didnt want to waste time and get new blade), Arko stick and VDH boar brush. Did a pass, looked at the time, did a pass looked at the time, did a pass looked at the time. Did a quick touchup and DFS with no nicks or irritation! On time and one of the best shaves!
Also have a great lunch and time spent with the misses so excellent day!!

 

That Proraso makes one helluva aftershave splash. Also that I love/hate breaking in a new boar brush (this one is more of a confirmation instead of new found knowledge)

 

I learned that a single ring is a very smooth shave, much smoother than an old type with the thicker head.
