    Gem Junior razor (w/baton handle)
    Gem Stainless blade
    FS Silver Tip brush
    Williams SS (with added menthol)
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel/Sage mix
    Colorado Sage Cologne

Added just enough menthol to cool off the Williams. Got a great lather and shave. Ready to go I think

Monday! I had a fantastic weekend shooting pics of the massive ice flows at the pier in South Haven, MI. It was beautiful but also pretty nerve wracking LOL Some absolutely insane people were venturing way out on the lake ice. Not me! The temps were in the low to mid 40s all weekend so I had a smile on my face everyday! Winter is DEAD!! ...Get the rest at...

Shave the morning was just so so at best. In fact it might have been the worst shave of the new year. Guess it pays to get up on time and not rush thru things. Well there is always tomorrow.

    Menthol Monday
    Soap - CO Bigelow
    Brush - Plisson Synthetic
    Razor - 66 Slim Adj (7,5,3)
Blade - Personna Lab Blue (2)
    AS - Barbasol

Great shave today and was reminded once again to try your blades in different razors. The blade was so-so in 2 razors but in the slim, excellent. Also felt good to use menthol.

Today I added a good amount of Stirling Glacial Obsidian to my LPL. This resulted in a very mentholated shave. 3 passes and all is well.

    Menthol Monday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (4, 5, 6)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS splash
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

I hadn't shaved since Friday, as I adjusted to how a new migraine medication made me feel. This produced lots of stubble, relatively, for the Bic to tackle this AM. As is typical with Ginger's Garden for me, I had enough lather for 4 or more passes within 40 swirls on the puck, and the shave was very smooth and comfortable, though I did get one weeper under my chin on the last pass. DFS+ results, overall.

Mastro Livi K720, 7/8 Full Hollow, Square Point

I am getting ready to go back home and, before packing, I shaved with this Mastro Livi K720 straight razor, so smooth and velvety, a lovely caress on the skin. I love its square point, very effective in giving a precise shave with just a simple touch. I also used the popular Omega 48 bristle brush - the shaving brush of professional barbers - big and effective, capable of mounting lather with no efforts at all. A generous splash of my Bay Rum aftershave, and now I am ready to go.
    • Pre-Shave: Roberts Distilled Rose Water
    • Soap: Aquagena
    • Brush: Omega 48
    • Bowl: Chinese Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Mastro Livi K720, 7/8 Full Hollow, Square Point
    • Post-Shave: Argan Oil
    • After Shave: RazorGuy Bay Rum

    Monday, March 9 -- SOTD

    Brush--Semogue Boar 1305
    Razor--Merkur 34c

What a great shaving soap and AS, BBS shave 2 passes. Didn't take much to load and had enough lather to shave three to four times if needed. Very slick and easy lather. Great smell to soap and AS. 40 degrees here in Boston I think I found my spring soap and AS.

    Menthol Monday
Solid Krampert's Frostbite shave. The soap whips up very easily and is tolerant of water. I thought I put in too much, but it still worked out great. My face is smooth and still cold thirty minutes later. I really like this soap because it matches and enhances my favorite menthol aftershave.
    Prep: Proraso White
    Soap: Krampert's Finest Frostbite
    Brush: HIS
    Razor: der Vorschlaghammer
    Blade: Voskhod

    3/9/2015 Menthol Monday!! Woo Hoo!!

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: GE Jones Shake Sharp, John Jay Velvet Shaver straight razor
    Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (1)
    Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
    Soap: TSD - Iced Subzero
After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave
    Cologne: Cuir Cannage

It is Menthol Monday and it was a Darn Fine Shave. The Vie Long brush whipped up the Iced Subzero into a good and cold lather. The Shake Sharp and the Velvet Shaver did an admirable job on the stubble. The Osage Rub brought the arctic chill and the Cuir Cannage will have me smelling great all day.

    Have a blessed day!
