I was gonna tell the 30 Day Thread about it, but fried my hand immediately upon arriving home.

And you're right...God sent George to me to teach me how to act. And I am thankful.

Veering off from the 30 day focus of the Gillette New LC. One week seemed about right as far as being able to shave every day with it. After that, I started noticing a little more sting to the aftershave and just a touch of irritation. So I've used my Weber for the past 2 days and everything is back to smooth and copacetic. No sting from the aftershave and no irritation anywhere. I think that's what these focus periods are about, finding what works and how it works. The New LC is still a fantastic shaver, just not an everyday driver for me. If I ever take a day or two off from shaving, I will make sure and grab it to take care of the longer stubble.

Fantastic 3 pass shave today. I just might have found my new favorite blade for the LC. The MdC continues to impress with being so easy to lather. Finished up with the balm and CC Bay Rum.

    March 17, 2015 - Week 3 Day 3
Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
Soap - Proraso Green in tub - bowl lathered
    Razor - '46-'50 Gillette Tech
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
Post - RazoRock Alum & Proraso

Decided to check the Treet Silver after it seemed like it was dying yesterday. Can you say rust? Both edges were already showing a lot of rust which surprised me a bit. I had dried it and dipped in 91% alcohol both days. Guess that blade just has not desire to live beyond two days. So......after a month of blade trials and two weeks of carbons and untried blades I decided the rest of the week is all about a return to comfort. With the 1918 Old Style and Treet Classic looming on Sunday I need some luxury.

Loaded the 48 with Proraso and bowl lathered. Loaded a Voskhod into the Tech and chased the baby. Three glorious passes with a Gillette Slide on the neck to finish and the baby is wrapped up all warm and cozy. Ahhhhhh the comforts of home. Thanks Mother Russia! You did it again!

I justify any shaving purchase by PIF if I don't care for it lol plus Arko is cheap

March Focus- Be modern, Learn to use my Feather Artist Club razor. Any touch ups with a modern DE.

March 18th, SOTD (Shave 11 of the focus)
    Two day's growth
    Prep: Hot Shower
Razor Feather Artist Club SS non-folding with Pro-Guard Blade (8th shave on blade)
Razor Finish: Van Der Hagen/ Weishi
DE Blade:Feather- Stropped 30 times per edge (2nd shave on blade)
Soap: The Shave Den Barber Shoppe Scent, bowl lathered w/5 drops of M-Bomb
    Brush: Omega 1066 Boar
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block,
Aftershave: The Shave Den Iced Barber Shoppe Splash

Did a three pass with the Feather Artist Club, and just a bit of touch up with the DE. I have a strip of hair on my neck that I can’t figure out how to hold the Feather AC to go ATG on. It points up from my Adam ’s apple to just under my ears, and is an inch wide. It is a different direction than all the other hair on my neck. I cleaned that up with the DE. Only downside of the feather is that my shower and shave time is up to 30 minutes now. That’s not going to work with only one bathroom in the house when SWMBO gets home from her business trip.

M-Bomb in the lather is awesome! Shave was very comfortable, no nicks or weepers. I got a BBS today!!!!

    March 18, 2015 : Ikon 102/Personna Focus Month

Pre- Face wash with warm water, Stirling Bay Rum PSO
Brush Soak- Sriracha Mug of Doom™
    Razor- Ikon 102 Slant
    Blade- Personna (3)
    Soap- Mickey Lee "Italian Stallion"
    Brush- VDH boar
    Post- Cold water rinse
    Aftershave- The Cool Fix balm

Two and a half passes :WTG , XTG, cleanup w/ a little ATG

Best shave I've had since starting DE Shaving. No Irritation, no bumps, and my face felt great afterwards.

Experimented with PSO again just for kicks. Figured out that I need to wet face, leave damp, apply oil, do my other prep, then shave. Let the oil soak in a bit and it becomes less tacky for me.
Before I was just washing my face, and then putting the oil on right before the lather, and it seemed to not jive with the lather. Worked so well, I'm thinking this will be in the routine from now on.

Mickey Lee soap did an amazing job again with lather production and protection. Still can't put my finger on what it is about the scent that throws me off. Not my favorite smell, but it works so well
I have to get past that. I'm in the process of looking at the other scents and possibly ordering something else. The Italian Stallion may get PIF'd, we'll see...

Skipped the alum to see how well the Cool Fix balm did on its own. Again, it was a success, so I'm really happy about that!

Fantastic 3 pass shave this morning with no nicks or irritation. As close as I'll get to a BBS on a workday morning. I really like the New LC. It could easily be a daily razor for me.
