Mongoose razor offerings

Thank you so much for sharing this! As I'm on "the list" I had no idea what the next stage was, heck I had no clue as to the price. I originally thought I just wanted to head but seeing I'd only be saving $10 I'll order the handle as well. Again thank you!

 

First rule about the list...is that we talk about the list a lot.

I take you for......a mirror polish kinda guy.

Im on the fence right now, but I think the mirror polish will win. It is beautiful.

 

Just paid for the Mongoose Satin with handle $159. Now to buy some blades.

 

You are five minutes ahead of me - I just did the same thing - AND this week I'll be getting the TryABlade (@ImSpicy) blade sampler pack

If you have requested the OC in previous communications, you are still on the list.
There aren't "places" per se. But once they're ready for market, we'll contact the folks on the list first.

Got this email this afternoon:
"Your package from Mongoose Razors, Inc. is on its way." with tracking number

So went ahead and placed an order for a Mongoose blade sample pack as well.

 

Ordered a Ti Helix Spiral Handle from Toby (Triad) for my Mongoose.

It will be a surprise.

Congrats @Darkbulb and @Boojum1 on getting the actual invoice and notification of shipping. For Batch 2 I got the order email and it was weeks before I got the invoice. Sounds like the process is much better this time.

For me the Mongoose shaves very similar to a New LC when using any blade other than the Feather Super. This is really true when you use the razor like a DE razor. I followed the advise from Bruce and Matt to make the first pass either ATG or XTG. I've found that this plays to the strength of the razor which is the blades.

After focusing this month on OC DE razors which has been my first long break from the Mongoose, I have decided I like it much better. I'm on the waiting list for the Wolfman but I will not be purchasing it.

 

So, is this technically batch 3 now?

 

That's what many are calling them or referring to them as long pins.

 

So, is it a "batch" better than another?

 

The new ones have longer pins on the top cap that go all the way thru the bottom plate making it easier to load the blade. The longer pins also allow you to partially disassemble the razor for cleaning. To my knowledge those are the only differences in the razor. Previous batches had 2 handle sizes, the size now offered and a larger size.
