So went ahead and placed an order for a Mongoose blade sample pack as well.

Ordered a Ti Helix Spiral Handle from Toby (Triad) for my Mongoose.

Congrats @Darkbulb and @Boojum1 on getting the actual invoice and notification of shipping. For Batch 2 I got the order email and it was weeks before I got the invoice. Sounds like the process is much better this time.

For me the Mongoose shaves very similar to a New LC when using any blade other than the Feather Super. This is really true when you use the razor like a DE razor. I followed the advise from Bruce and Matt to make the first pass either ATG or XTG. I've found that this plays to the strength of the razor which is the blades.

After focusing this month on OC DE razors which has been my first long break from the Mongoose, I have decided I like it much better. I'm on the waiting list for the Wolfman but I will not be purchasing it.

So, is this technically batch 3 now?

That's what many are calling them or referring to them as long pins.

So, is it a "batch" better than another?

The new ones have longer pins on the top cap that go all the way thru the bottom plate making it easier to load the blade. The longer pins also allow you to partially disassemble the razor for cleaning. To my knowledge those are the only differences in the razor. Previous batches had 2 handle sizes, the size now offered and a larger size.
