6/18/2015 Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO Razor: Merkur 37C, French Fau Frame Back straight razor Blade: Astra SP (7) Brush: Turkish #6 Soap: DR Harris - Marlborough After: Home made ASB Cologne: Prada - Amber Pour Homme EDT A 2 pass Darn Fine Shave on Throw Back Thursday. The #6 brush whipped up the Marlborough into a wonderful lather. The 37C and the Frenchie did a great job knocking down the stubble. The home made ASB and the Prada were a nice finish to this shave. Have a blessed day!
Too rough or not enough tallow? This shave was solid, but not the best. Maybe I just like tallow better than vegan soaps. I got a few weepers in places I rarely, if ever, get them. The soap seemed to give up excellent lather to my HIS XL, and felt great going on and while being shaved off by the Fatboy. Maybe two shaves in a row on 9 is too much? It sure felt great while it happened, but the Tonique burned much more than usual. Live and learn. Shave of the day Pre- Hot shower, mentholated Corn huskers (before the shower) Soap/cream- Geo F. Trumpers shaving cream mix Sandalwood and Rose Brush- Plisson synthetic Razor- Merkur 37c Blade- Wilkinson sword(2) Post- Cold water rinse, Pinaud clubman classic Vanilla aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive cooling aftershave balm Bowl lathered my cream. First time in a VERY long time. I like it! Why have I not been doing it a little more? The wilkinson sword performed good, a little better than the first use. I usually only use a blade twice, but im trying this blade for a third shave. It felt like it could do it with no problems. A nice 2 pass shave. And finished with Pinaud vanilla and Nivea. Great finish! I have a BIG ingrown on my neck, I Didnt irritate but I hate those!
I have 3 #6 brushes in my collection. They are all well broken in. I usually take pictures the night before, so the brushes are not wet or disheveled at that point.
