Rockwell has not emailed me back but a reseller on another forum who is selling the complete razor and individual components stated the issue has been isolated to the top cap and a MIM (metal injected mould) topcap will be available in the fall.

Well I have the other Saponificio Varesino shave soaps and enjoy them a lot so I decided to give their 70th Anniversary shave soap and AS a try.

The travel kit I ordered. Comes with Murkur 4pc razor with small pouch, Edwin Jagger portable shave brush, Arko shave stick and a travel pouch.

I uh...decided I needed a companion to my other Rubberset 400-3 so picked up this one today.
I LOVE the 400 metal handle and it has quickly become my go-to brush.

This one does seem a wee bit 'tired' though...
Maybe I can bribe @clint64 with something to give it some TLC. :)

Since I love the handle so much I thought it would be really fun to have two..but with very different knots in them...
Now I just need to figure out what would be a good compliment to the one that has a silvertip badger in it... Hmmm...... maybe a boar...maybe a synth....maybe a different badger....maybe horse....

Unfortunately, to me, the wooden brush and 'neck shaper' are complete write-offs as I have zero interest in either of them. They'll go into the box of undesirables to be brought out during the sale. Probably sold as a lot with other stuff like that.

I also picture @mrchick right now crafting a small voodoo doll of me and shoving hot needles into my rubberset-owning-doll-body.

The wooden brush looks like something Harry Potter would use.

I ordered a red tip just to see how it does. I love how smooth my superspeed is but want a little closer shave than it can give. If it works out I'll probably make it my travel razor since I generally like long handled razors and the red tip is more compact that my other razors.

Probably, it would be far too awkward for a shaving brush.

The Omega 10066 Boar @Boojum1 picked for his was a really nice knot. Really worked great on the install. Maybe Mark will chime in with his thoughts.

Hmm...it WOULD be interesting to have one 400-badger and one 400-boar....

Cannot say enough about the Omega 1066 Boar. :happy096: Recommended by @clint64, it's the perfect knot for the Rubberset 400. Not too thick, not too tall and yet very economical.

I wish I had that one in my 400-unmarked. I used a knot from a Omega 49 and really had to open the collar up a lot to make it work. The 10066 just dropped right in. And given the price and no mods on the collar, it would be easy to change it out if you didn't like it.
