Not sure if this has been posted before, but since I decided to get back into the gym I thought it would good to post your physical activities or workouts for the day. Be it, walking, biking, swimming, weight lifting, etc. Just might be the motivation one or more of us needs to stay healthy or provide other workout ideas to others out there. Being an old fart (58), it is not as easy as it use to be for me so I motivational push now and then may be needed. So I'll start this off with my cardio/ab workout for today. 20 minutes on recumbent bike then 20 minutes on treadmill. Followed by vertical chair knee raise x3, torso rotation machine x 3. Ended my workout with 20 minutes in the sauna.
My monday morning regimen: • Get up out of bed (2o minutes) • Stride to the kitchen where coffee is brewing. • Do 6-8 ounce cups of black coffee, easing into it slowly to avoid any burn. Repeat as necessary. • Climb 12 stairs to my office. • Deep knee bend into my black leather chair. • 6 oz curls of coffee while perusing news and TSD on the mac. • Consider going back to bed since its my day off. (20 minutes). Caffiene cardio prohibits that reality….
All kidding aside, I think its great you have the initiative to get fit at a club! Before I messed up my back about 5 years ago, I was a regular 5:30am basketballer at the local health club. We had a dozen guys 3-days a week who showed up before work and we'd play full-court or half-court games for an hour. Off to work by 7:00 am. Felt great—although I was often dragging by 3pm…I miss the exertion!
this is a cool idea for a thread! I cleaned the carpet at my house today which was a good workout. I might do some reps with the free weights later on (20 lb. weights, 5 sets of 20)
At the gym by 5:30 that is motivation in itself. I cant function without a long shower and at least two cups of coffee by 7AM. Getting up that early for phys ed puts me back in my military days. Unless it is for fishing, I refuse to wake up that early!
I don't. I should. :bang: There, a short run, a little hoops, and a walk in the woods. Huh? What? Those don't count?
Ok this is my planned workout this evening right after work. Thankfully the gym is just 7 buildings away: Seated Military Press x3 Upright row x3 dumbell lateral raise x 3, standing dumbell press pinky up x 3, bent over lateral raise x3 (weight added progressively for each set) Leg extensions x 4, standing leg curls x4, donkey calf raises x 9 (x3 toes straight, x3 toes out x3 toes in) Adductor machine x3 then Abductor Machine x 3 (weight added progressively for each set). Finish off with 20 minutes in the sauna.
I went to the gym yesterday for my back and biceps routine. Started with bent over row 5 x 5 Cable overhang pull 3 x 8 Cable row 3 x 8 Hammer curl supersets 2 x 10 Cable biceps curl 3 x 8 Today I would like to do a bit if running, but since I am running in toe shoes, and my big toe is hurt I decided for a beer instead
I rode a fixie 15.5 miles up and down hills. It took about 45 minutes. That's about 20.6 mph, constant pedaling as it's a fixed gear bike (no coasting).
My wife and I have a couple of 'courses" around our neighborhood and the surrounding area. We normally walk 4 miles a night.
200m run 5 rep max bench press 10 minute as many reps as possible of: Goblet squat 70lbs 15 box jumps 30 inches Ring pushups until failure
