    Three Pass Shaving Routine...

Hot Water prep & massage with Coconut Oil
    German Rapide SE
Gem Stainless blade (Shimmed - New)
    Semogue Boar Brush
Wars Classic Shaving Cream (added Argan oil)
    Organic Aloe Vera Gel
    Logona Mann Aftershave Splash

The German Rapide I have was made in 1898 and is the most aggressive SE that I have...I call it "Jaws" and you can see why...I got it NOS and she is in lovely condition...I whacked down 4 days of whiskers with ease...This razor is not for a beginner that's for sure....I had a lovely ever so close most perfect BBS result with the Rapide...As the Germans would say...Wunderbar...;)

    Dove Men Face Wash
    Arko Stick
Jayaruh #25 WD Synthetic (first shave)
Gillette OT OC/Gillette Aristocrat* 1947 BYR
    Personna SS
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Vegetal

This was my first shave with the WD synthetic, and I was so excited that I did both passes with the OT. So, the Aristocrat is just in the picture for eye candy. The Arko Stick face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #25 WD Synthetic brush. Two passes with the Gillette Old Type with brass punch handle and a Personna Super blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Lilac Vegetal after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

As expected, the combo made quick work of 3 days of beard for a nice, one-pass CCS.

Vacation starts tomorrow. It might be a night shave, or a very early shave in the morning. My posts will be spotty until next week.

GEM OCMM again today. I continue to work at taming this one as I am still nicking my chin. I wonder if the rise of the goatee correlated with OCMM sales...? I guess that's what keeps me coming back to it - the challenge of getting a near perfect shave even in the difficult areas. Except for the chin it provided a satisfying shave experience and it's trademark super close shave.

    Three-pass shave.

This was the second DE OC that I’ve tried and my initial reaction is very positive. The New LC is currently my favorite DE. The shave today resulted in a shave very similar to the New LC.

The initial whisker reduction was very good. The Standard will easily allow for just a two-pass shave. The razor provides excellent feedback and the shaving angle is easily found by “riding the cap” and making minor angle adjustments from there.

I’m just four hours since the shave, but the immediate result was BBS.

The only negative from the shave appeared mostly when shaving ATG and around the highest concentration of whiskers. It was there where I experienced a noticeable reverberation in the blade. I’m not sure if I had the handle screwed in too tight or too loose. The bottom plate appears to have significant wear around the hole where the handle attaches.

I will spend the week with this razor and switch to a new blade after 3 shaves. I’ll explore minor tweaks to see if the reverberation issue can be corrected.

    Play Ball!

    Somerset's PSO
    Proraso green
    EJ Best Badger
Gem MMOC w/ Ted Pella (1)
CWR, alum block, Pacific Nick Stick, witch hazel,
CO Bigelow Bay Rum ASB, CO Bigelow Bay Rum Cologne
Queen Bee Apothecary Shea Butter solid lotion

After using the Gillette New SC all last week, it was time for the Gem MMOC. As one can tell by the addition of the PNS, I didn't give this creature its proper respect. She bit me pretty good. I was doing an ATG pass approaching my upper jaw bone just below my sideburns. Because of my overconfidence I wasn't watching my angle and went past exfoliating skin. There was blood! I hurried through the rest of my shave and when the alum block hit my skin, I knew I was still alive. We won't be making those mistakes again. But after 9 hours I am still smooth and still handsome and none worse for wear.

    Continued good shaves for all!

iKon OC DLC with Black Mamba Handle
    Feather #2
    Druida Robo Brush 28 X 52mm
Sterling Soap Co. Margaritas In The Arctic
    Cucumber Melon Whipped Shea Butter
    Myrsol Metilsol Aftershave

Menthol Monday shave was a face chiller with Sterling’s MITA. The iKon OC mowed the stubble down nicely and left me with a scary close 3 pass BBS shave today. The Druida Robo Brush has super soft tips, excellent flow through, and decent backbone. It had no trouble generating a mountain of frosty lather. The chill was on during the first pass, went up a notch on the second pass, and had my eyes watering by the third pass. A generous splash of Myrsol Metilsol made me stand up straight. WOW!
    Love the burn!

I struggle with my chin using a OCMM as well. It does great for most of my face, but the chin is difficult.

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    Stirling Frozen Tundra
    Schick Type C1
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Brut Classic AS

I was a bit rushed this morning, so I skipped the picture. Still got in a good shave with the Schick Type C1, though.

I had planned on a quick one pass with the Sheraton and out the door tomorrow but my Schick B2 OC arrived tonight. If I can figure out how to get a sharp blade loaded, I may give it a go as well.

    today I used my;
    Gillette single ring
it's serial number dates it to 1918.
it's close shave, elegant simplicity, and maneuverability always make me wonder why another model was ever made.
it always is a top performer for me.
mine well eventually get a replate. for now, I'll just enjoy its shave.
