I'm still hoping someone can tell me if its possible to remove the slide from a type B without breaking it. And I wanted to thank everyone who has posted on the new club for your interest and enthusiasm!Awesome!
On a sadder note I did not receive my new friend today. I hope for tomorrow but most likely Monday Tom
Yes...You need to flatten the the sprung head on a flat surface to tighten it up to take the thinner blades Sir... Billy..
I have never removed the slide from a B Type...As far as I can see it isn't designed to be removed...I wouldn't attempt it myself.... Billy..
I've never had a problem with my B type cycling blades. i still get some junk every now and then and i've cleaned it as well as I know how. my C type is really clean but it tends to hang up cycling blades.
It turns out my slide comes right out. I snapped a pick with the slide out that shows a catch just inside. It looks like my slide is missing a piece that holds it in, but you may be able to get it loose. That is the side opposite the blade ejection slot.
Here is my collection. First is my B1: I haven't cleaned it, and it obviously needs some polishing, but I am looking forward to shaving with it. As mentioned above, the slide mechanism pulls all the way out, but I don't intend to use the loader anyway. Next is my C1: I have used this one a few times, and it is a great shaver. Here is my C3: This shaves a bit better than the C1 in my opinion, but I need more time to really confirm. The loading mechanism is a bit tight on this one, but it does work. And this is the crown jewel. A Type A, that does not appear to have much if any use: I just got it a week ago, and am currently on a month long Aristocrat focus, so I haven't used it yet. It sure is beautiful, though. I hope it shaves as well as it looks.
Man that A Type is a real beauty. Super jealous of that one. One day i hope to find one for myself. Great collection. Tom
That A Type is beautiful Sir...These are very smooth shavers...Surprized me All the way to Hell & Back... Billy..
If it is anywhere close the Type C, then it will be great. The blade bank is still wrapped and sealed. The instructions are in almost pristine condition. It really looks great.
