11/13/2015 Razor – Wolfman OC with Triad Ti Aristocrat Blade – Feather (3) Brush – Rudy Vey Rover with TGN Finest Lather – B&M Seville Post - Witch Hazel & Fine Platinum Changed things up a little today going with a XTG pass followed by an ATG pass. Given the amount of touch ups required, I would have been better served to have just went with a 3 pass shave from the start. I did end up with one weeper due to operator error. In the end, I finished with a near BBS. Closeness A and Irritation A - . Finished off with a splash of Fine Platinum. Happy Friday.
Fantastic shave today with the usual stuff: - D.R. Harris Sandalwood - Semogue 620 - Mühle R89 - Gillette Silver Blue (#4) - Tüff Sensitiv Concentrating less on the tools themselves but more on their handling really seems to pay off. You know the feeling when everything falls into place? Well ... seems like it was one of those days for me today. One of the best shaves I have had so far, though maybe not BBS - but I don't care too much about that for an everyday shave. On the other hand: zero irritation, cuts or anything - A+ in that respect.

Gold Bond Ultimate Aftershave: Proraso Green Proraso. Consistently good. The Mongoose is a razor that can be used for all levels of experience, it's a touch and go. Everyone wants to copy the Plisson, no wonder why.. Never let the things you WANT Make you forget the things you HAVE
Thirteen days in a row and I'm running out of things to say about this setup. I did a thorough two pass shave today and ended up with a very nice DFS. I did get a couple of small weepers on a trouble spot on my neck. It was because I have difficulty keeping the correct angle on the offside lower part of the neck. I know where my focus will be for a while. All in all, I am pleased with the shaves I am getting. Last nights shave was so amazing that I still don't have any noticeable stubble. No stubble means no shave today. I had a 3 pass last night XTG something in between XTG and ATG and an ATG pass. Some minor buffing along the jawline and I called it quits and liberally spashed on the clubman before bed. I still feel no stubble now almost 16 hours later so I'm calling it a very firm BBS with an A+ on irritation.
just an informal, unscientific observation...(and perhaps it's just my pain meds...which appear to be disappearing - quickly! )... ...but here it is, not even half way through the month and it would appear that most all in this thread, if not all, are getting great shaves with their chosen equipment for the month....most notably all our Pain Stick Crusaders?!! If true, what more does one need to affirm the 30-day process? Perhaps a Royal Order should be on the table for consideration? as: KNights of the Order Of Best Shaves!
ahh, ok....do I go to my account/name to make the choice? As I get into Clubman season I've been thinking of a MESSAGE to go along with my name.
I'm not an expert on vintage Mennen products but that was the most vintage photo that I found during a swing on the internet. I hoped you might like it?! The avi, or avatar, is the little photo that many of us use as a picture of our persona. Like the Groucho Marx picture I use. Sadly, I'm not really Groucho, but I relate to his persona. Just like JR is a fan of "Chicken Wing" ice cream! So there is a way to take a photo like that and have it show up each time you post something - instead of the stock circle and arrow designation that you are assigned. If you'd like to try using the Mennen photo I posted, send me a Private Message and perhaps I can walk you through the process. by the way...the message you see under the avi is not controlled by the user. it is assigned by the gods...but that's a whole other story!
The Mennen photo looks good for me for next year. I'll keep you in mind, definetly..thanks Rufus T. Marx
Need more practice to affirm it. I am trying too hard for the BBS face and get too many weepers and razor burn. I have been DE shaving for only 5 months and still learning when a blade should be replaced. Using Derbys it did not matter much 'cuz they start out a little duller than others. With Feathers, Merkurs, Sharps, and the like, I am starting to notice that 60-grit sandpaper feel on the third day.:whip:
Here's a laugh for the group-yesterday, I began the process of ordering the Wm.(Bill)Neumann sampler set, but as I was on my mom's computer I stopped the order when her e-mail address came up(as well it should have, I suppose). My computer is on its last legs, so I've been using others for now. Perhaps a more "neutral" computer would be best(public library). I just hope what I did doesn't put my mom on the Neumann mailing list, lol.
