Thanks, actually I got it from Nick at Sportshaving.com. I think it's polyurethane but I'm not sure. I don't know what the knot is, just that it's a synthetic.
Yeah it's awesome to me. How many brushes can you think of that look like this? So far I've only seen a handful in pics that were in good condition.
I saw one late last night on eBay by chance when searching for a different brush, after seeing what it looks like restored I'm now looking forward to seeing yours when it's finished. What a transformation!
I remembered Dark having one that was either very similar or identical when I happened upon it on the bay.
My precious one...still a fixer-upper.... As mentioned there is one more on the bay right now but it's part of a larger lot
Well, I did pick up another vintage brush this weekend for sub-10 dollars... Maybe not so interesting visually...but it's a make (it's a Sta-Fast) and shape that I didn't already have... ..it is joining this rowdy gang that all needs some good cleaning and grooming:
And the best thing is that they can often be had for 5-6 dollars. The most inexpensive one was 99 cents
Here is my latest score. Cost a grand total $19 shipped What I really wanted was the Schick G3. But who am I not to take 2 other cool razors. I used an ER 1912 all of November. So I am really happy to get a Star to add to the SE collection. You can't go wrong with a Gillette SS Black tip to boot.
