Usually 4711 or AV Ice Blue. Alt Innsbruck or DR Harris Arlington for special days. No balms for me either, dont like the greasiness.
I usually just rinse the outside of the mug and put the lid on halfway so the puck can dry off.
Another fan of the 620, once I had gone through a month with it I sold all of my other brushes and bought another one as a back up.
Omegas are a great brush for the money, that would be my first choice in the under $20 range.

3-1 or 1-1 Super, hard to go wrong with either one. The Finest is a great brush but the Super is so close the difference is subtle at best.
