      Happy new year!
Do you still have that Rooney and Senator I just saw in the marketplace posts?
      Looking for anything yourself?

The Senator is gone. I still have the Rooney. Not actively looking for anything at the moment, but I'm open to trade offers.

hello I read your post about the 5 second de sharpener and I had to buy two..... lol. I am wondering if u latch it then slide the razor blade or leave it unlatched ? I have also been using a twinplex on treet blades, seems better results, but I like the 5 second one (smaller) but when I latch it the blade seems to catch.

I also have two. If I remember correctly, one of mine was slightly out of alignment and also "caught." They are fairly easy to disassemble. Lay the "hones" on top of each other and look for bent parts. They can be bent with pliers.

They were designed for the old three hole Gillette blades, which were much thicker than modern blades.

The Twinplex was designed for the more "modern" thinner Gillette carbon blades, which is why you are probably seeing better results with that. They are fun to play with, though.

Do your have any source's on the history (different types) of Gillette metal blade holders? The ones that started appearing in the sets in the late 1900's until around the 1930's. Regards Pat.

Mr.Razor would be the best source of information on those.

Ya I've already looked that over. It gave me a pretty good idea of the time frames for the striker plate models vs the smooth bottom etc. Just though maybe another source out there that I missed. Thanks for the reply. Pat

I wasn't talking about the site. I was talking about the person who runs it. @mr-razor

Hello greg here. Did I hear on one of your threads you decided to open one of your vintage razor blade dispensers to put into one of your boxed razors? If your interested I just aquired a unopened 4 pack of the 10 blade dispenser still in the box with the cellophane wrapper still intact. Let me know if your interested.

Yeah I opened a sealed pack to put in my #58 set. All I'd be interested in would be an unopened pack wrapped in cellophane...without a box.

If I feel the urge to shave with carbon blades, I have a couple thousand Buper Blues in a factory storage container.

I appreciate your thinking of me though, thanks. :)

Hi Greg again. Hope you don't mind me bothering you again. Are there any circumstances that I would have that fat boy red dot replated?

I am asking you this because I think you can answer it best there were two Fatboy red dots made .
1 a 1958 prototype called the red point I believe it was D1 then there was a 1960 Fatboy Red Dot F4 ....did you know this and which one would be considered more rare

I'm an old school wetshaver. Refined in print, but in real life I swear like a sailor. I work in the shipyards as a Journeyman Boilermaker. I have a wife and a dog, books to read and razors to collect, all my kitchen knives are razor sharp. My farm is full of animals and growing things (mostly blackberries). My life is full and I am content.
