It sounds like the key to it possibly working, is to let The Veg" air out for a while.

 

Yes, be sure to give it a little time to dry down before going out in public. Some claim a big difference after decanting to a glass bottle. I have some Veg that's been in glass for months. My wife likes it better from the plastic. I can't tell much difference

I agree. I enjoy the Clubman Classic and I abhor the Vegetal.

 

I love how the Veg is so divisive! It's certainly a polarizing shave item.

I used the vintage Wilkinson blade again today for its third use. It was a good blade, sharp and smooth. It was a good blade and left me with three days of good shaves. Thanks again for including it in the box! I really enjoyed trying a small piece of history.

Good Morning all, the Veg has arrived safe and sound! Thanks to @PLAla for getting the pass around box to me, and again thanks to @DaltonGang , for creating this pass around.
Well I have waited until the Veg arrived so I could try it after today's shave, and I have used the 7OClock yellow blade that PLAla has included for my use. The razor today was my Maggards V2OC head on a DeFitch handle. Soap was Maggards artisan soap London Barbershop. Post shave was of course The Veg. The Mrs. just gave me the thumbs down report. Personally I like it. But she does not. Tomorrows shave will tell the tale. I will try a different soap, and see if that changes her opinion. I hope it does. Until that time I remain un-chosen.

Ps.- thanks for the 7Oclock yellow blade. It's a good blade.

Glad it arrived safe and sound and happy that the 7 O'clock blade worked well for you. Perhaps tomorrow's shave will yield a better result with the Veg. But if not at least you were able to try it!

 

Yes, I gave it a try! I think part of the reason the Mrs. didn't like the scent was because of the poor air quality we are having here today. There are air quality warnings out from the wild fires in Kansas that are fouling up the air here in Nebraska. You can see a blue haze in the air all around Omaha. It's hard to breathe here too. So that could be affecting my lady's ability to smell the Veg. Time will tell. I will try it again tomorrow.

 

I love the 7OC Yellows. These have been my favorite modern blade for a long, long time.
Alan, just lightly put some on, about 30 minutes before she can get a full whiff of you, and try to sneak it by her, without letting her know. See how she reacts.

Hello all, I am happy to announce I have been chosen!!! Today my Mrs gave me the thumbs up! I paired it with a different soap today. And I used it after a complete shower and shave. I think the Veg didn't mix well with the soap I used, and I needed to have a thorough shower, not a quick one. So I took my time in the shower, had a leisurely shave, and that was what I needed to do to prepare myself to wear the Veg. Here is the SOTD lineup;

Thorough hot shower with Crabtree and Evelyn Moroccan Myrrh bath soap bar.

1930's Gillette New Deluxe.
Gillette 7Oclock yellow blade.
Kent BLK-2 badger brush.
Mitchell's Wool Fat shaving soap.
Nivea post shave balm.
The Veg!



Everything fell into place, it was a two pass BBS, and.......I was chosen!!!
