Received my first stick of Arko yesterday so I had to try it today. Rubbed it all over my face, then started face lathering. At first the lather was weak, but I did start pretty dry since it was my first time. So I slowly added water as I was lathering. It was still disappointing for a while, until I hit the soaps water content sweet spot. The lather just exploded, it was rich, creamy, and slick.
So some pros of this soap
Cheap, lather is great, perfect for face lathering, and it is sort of iconic in any shave forum
Some Cons
Packaging is sub par (most likely due to price), it was a little drying, not as much as I have read here on TSD but just a little, and the scent
Now about the scent, it is not terrible, in fact, the initial whiff of it I actually enjoyed, clean and crisp. It has a sort of after smell (if that is even a thing) where it smells like an industrial bathroom cleaner. Not repulsive, just a little unsettling.
Overall a great product that IMO everyone should at least give it the benefit of the doubt
