May 12, 2016- Soap/Lather Focus
Razor: Standard 160 Goodwill
Blade: German Wilkie (5)
Brush: Chinese Pure Badger
Soap: Williams
Another day, another try with Flopsy the Badger. After a bit of reading, I figured that yesterday's lathering issues might be because of not enough water during the initial load, so I tried with more. Apparently, I crossed the line, though, as I ended up with the stereotypical Williams lather- thin and quickly dissipating (though still slick). In the end, I stopped with a decent CCS and one small weeper on my chin. Back to the VdH Boar for tomorrow.
At times like, this I really have to admire members like @
DDuckyMark and @
NCoxSTL who have really gotten a handle on the techniques to where they could get a lather from Irish Spring using the brush from a kid's watercolor set. At eight months in, I still have a long ways to go on my journey.
