Sun. 1/1/17 A truly wonderful shave this New Year day with the PAL Injecto-Matic. This Wickham shave soap made by my friend Darron is just outstanding. Excellent, slick, bountiful lather. A lovley, bold Citrus Musk scent that fills the room and awakens the senses. What a wonderful start to the morning. Three refreshing passes for a dolphin smooth finish. Have a wonderful day friends. Happy New Year!
New Year SOTD: Stirling Synthetic Brush Route 66 Ghost Town Gem Damaskeene Vintage Old Spice AS After spending all of December working on my Gillette Adjustables, it was great to get back to the Damaskeene. A terrific first shave of the year.
Happy New Year everyone. I am starting off the new year with a SE shave. I had bought this Gillette Injector at the first of December, but I had already designated DEcember as my double edge Gillette month in which I would be using my 24 Gillette DE razors. I did do one pass with it the day after it arrived, but that was it. Today, it stole the show. What a fabulous shave with a Chinese Schick blade. Silky smooth and comfortable. No nicks, cuts or abrasions. The first week of January is going to be shared with this razor, an Enders Speed Razor, and my new Acevivi dual comb razor. Then each will get its own week. I am looking forward to some different shaves this month.
SOTD January 1, 2017 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick M adjustable injector Brush: Jayaruh #60 synthetic Lather: Route 66 Cavendish Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Ozark Mountain Trail aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up Nice shave with the Schick adjustable this morning. Nice, smooth, mild razor. I started on 5 and then upped it to 6 for the touch-up round. Nice results. Great lather and skin conditioning from Route 66 Cavendish. Enjoyable shave to start 2017. Have a great day!
My guess is that they shave the same but the underside of the base in the British version is much more elegant than the later US one.

Today's Shave: January 1, 2017 Gem Damaskeene Open Comb Gem Stainless Steel PTFE coated blade (1) Plisson synthetic brush Chiseled Face Groomatorium Ghost Town Barber soap and aftershave I decided to start the new year by taking a break from my Artist Club SE's and get back to the basics. I think that working with the scary sharp AC blades has improved my technique. I didn't notice any harshness from the Gem ptfe blade, despite it being its first shave - just a really smooth close shave. The Feather AC blades are sharper than the Gem stainless blades . . . but not by much. Today's shave was almost as close as yesterday's Cobra shave - not much difference at all. Happy New Year! --Bob
Enders Speed Shaver Dove Men Face Wash TABAC Jayaruh #100 Enders (first shave) Enders Speed Blade CWR, Asma Alum Block T.N. Dickinson's WH Mennen Skin Bracer AS This is a different kind of single edge razor, and today was my first shave with it. The TABAC face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #100 Two-band Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Enders Speed Shaver with a Enders Speed Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with T.N. Dickinson's WH and then Mennen Skin Bracer After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... See more here: Enders Speed Shaver
Anyone used the Personna injector much? I'm thinking of trying it out with tomorrow's shave. @PickledNorthern - what did you think of it? It's pretty light with the plastic underside of the handle. It looks really cool and sleek. Any thoughts are welcome!
I used to have the adjustable Personna, but I did not like it. The head design did not work well with my face. I have looked at pictures of the regular non-adjustable, and I am thinking of giving it another try. It is a beautiful razor.
