Third hotel room straight shave in a row. I'm not sure why I always carried a safety razor on the road. The straight works the same as it does at home
    Very nice shave today.

    Razor: F2 Gillette 195 Adjustable (4)
    Blade: Astra SP (4)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free

Plenty of lather from the KMF. I turned the Fatboy up to 4 which got me almost to BBS, though it did wake up the Alum a bit. No blood, though... which is always a good thing.

Thanks, Clint. I had some hopes Erasmic would be good, but it doesn't seem to work for me.

I have a Stirling Kong synthetic, which is about the same brush. I love them both. They are just so convenient.

Now I get the Tabac fandom. I wet my brush, couple swipes across the top of the stick installed in an up-cycled dispenser, and bowl lathered more than I expected. The soap seems quite tolerant when hydrating. More water, more lather & wetter is better when applying open blade to face. After WTG and ATG shavette passes there didn't seem enough soap to go again. Using the dispenser as intended I rubbed my neck like an armpit and applied wetted brush. Poof! Plenty more creamy slick for the Lady Gillette (butched up with a sharp fresh Japanese blade). While attempting different grips with the Weck I found one that took a divot off my neck. Alum sealed it and afforded an otherwise standard warm pass. Finishing with Clubman complimented the powdery scent of Grandma's purse and Certs mints. Thank you Perry @PLAla for the generous sample!
    Good shaves Y'all

Yea, verily! I'll share a sample of the sample with a Lady friend to get her impression. I wonder if many females wear the EDT or EDC. My reading suggests there is a subtle difference in scent between the two products.

Thank you. I had some time in my hotel room and had fun playing with photo editing.

You are my hero for posting that picture. I laughed out loud. Hard.

I was given a sample of the cologne in an order from Gifts and Care. It smelled nothing like the soap at all, and if I bought cologne, would buy it in a heartbeat.

It was so different from the soap that I wonder if it is the same product I commonly see used here, or something else they were promo-ing.

Glad you've enjoyed it so far! I found that Tabac needed a good bit of water. The face lathering straight from the stick has never been my strong suit. I would end up with drying lather when I used the Tabac. I'm glad it's getting some more use!

No personal information about the EDC & EDT. I've read they are slightly different. Also there's the old Tabac, then the new formula. Check the labels for angled (old) or horizontal (new). I think, I'm waiting in line at the DMV rather than at my command post.

This shave turned started out really badly, and then ended pretty okay. For the sake of science, I put a Personna injector blade into Irving. I had early on decided that he does his best work with an AC blade, but I decided to give it another run. First pass, N to S, WTG, dominant hand, feels a little tuggy, like it is pulling the hair out of my face. I mean it plain old hurts. I finish that side of my face, and start on my neck, same drill. Okay, something is wrong. I look at the blade, everything is aligned, I look in the mirror, and I have like fifty tiny, just barely weeping scratches on my cheek. Okay, five. I rinsed off, and got them all stopped with cold water. I changed to blade to a new Feather Pro, and proceeded to finish up with a pretty okay shave.

I couldn't see anything wrong with the blade. Could it honestly be damaged enough to scratch me like that and not see it? Was I scratching myself with the front corner of it? That would seem the most likely, but it isn't something I have done before, with any razor, let alone this one, especially not in the easiest spot on my face to shave.

I probably need to chalk it up to operator error and move on.

Hope you all are having a good day. Sort of a ground blizzard today, so I am probably just going to clean out rabbit hutches, throw another bale of straw to the dogs, and hunker down.

It's definitely a great performer. I suspect that if I ever went minimalist, this would be my setup.

I just realized that if we eliminated all the posts that say "great pic", and the subsequent "thank you" posts, this thread would be 3 pages long.

Just kidding guys. There are some great photographers here. Keep up the good work.

    Razor: Gillette Black Tip X 3 1952
    Blade: Wilkinson Sword (5)
Brush: Orange & Black Handle Made in Switzerland, Boar (I think)
    Soap: Route Route 66 Cavendish
    Aftershave: 2x Iced Yin Yang

Took awhile to get this brush loaded, but it did a pretty good job once loaded. End with a DFS.
