I know I'm early, but MAYhem starts tomorrow for me 'cause that's when my shave week starts. Gonna take my newly acquired GEM Featherweight for it's maiden voyage. Then I'll be using it and soaps all month. Not as mayhemy as others I'm sure but it's enough for me.
April 29 (Saturday ) - Italian almond croap mini-focus Rockwell 6s on plate #3 / Topaz Platinum ( 2 ) Alluminati Envy White brush Vitos Supercrema soap Alum and cold water This morning's soap was Vitos Supercrema. At least at Connaught Shaving, it usually comes in the 1 kg barbers brick. For those wanting less, Connaught repackages a brick into 10 individual 100ml sample tubs. Its tubs are 4"x1" and packed to the brim, which makes for easy but messy brush loading. Performance: scent is fainter and more almond than marzipan than Cella; lather and face feel are about the same. I used the leftover lather as an aftershave cream that I put on after the alum rub and rinse and let sit while I did cleanup. Postshave face feeling now is smooth, soft and well-hydrated. The shave itself was the usual excellent two pass near BBS I get from the Rockwell 6s when I have used any halfway decent shaving product. Hope everyone has a great Saturday.
The loss of a child is always difficult. My cousin and his wife were trying for a while to have a baby. Unfortunately the last miscarriage resulted in uterine complications that will prevent her from ever getting pregnant. They decided to try the surrogate route. The baby was born two months early with a heart defect and they were fortunate to have spent 40 minutes with their daughter. Devastated is putting it mildly. We'll pray for your friends and hope the future, if they choose to try again, will be full hope and health. As for the student, hopefully this experience will make him stronger. And before I forget, nice SS
Great looking razor. Dovo's are good shavers, and great eye candy. Can I ask where you bought it? I only ask, because Dovo's "Shave Ready out of the box" is something of a stretch, IMO. Just wondering if you have had it honed?
Edit**** If that razor came from SRD, it is not the one I was thinking of. I was thinking of another vendor and a factory edge. Apologies again. I will just read the rest of the thread, and keep my mouth shut.
I sure like this soap and am sorry it's discontinued. I'm making this stick last. This razor is a fabulous shaver. I'm smooth and happy this morning. SOTD Irisch Moos Shave Stick Wolf Whiskers Brush Torrey Shoulderless Razor Lucky Tiger Pinaud Lilac Vegetal After Shave Have a great weekend!
So the last few weeks have been kind of a zoo. I accepted a new job, got ready to leave my old one without jamming anyone up, and started a new one. So I have been going a ton of hours; Hell the last few days I haven't even bothered shaving. Everything is going well though, and even though it is going to stay pretty nuts for the next few weeks, all is good. So trying to catch up on the 1500 or so posts I missed has been difficult. Still flipping back and forth to see what quoted posts referred to, and then losing my place. To all the guys I owe spiff gifts too, I deeply deeply apologize that they haven't been mailed yet. I have them all packaged up, and have been hauling them around with me for two weeks, I just haven't had time to hit the PO. I know I have said it before, but I will get to it as soon as I can. Now in a little bit, I am going to go knock 4 days growth off with that awesome old wedge that @Keithmax sold to me. I have been looking forward to this for a couple of days now. Good to be back.
Not to upset @PickledNorthern on this, but stop, collaborate, and listen: I'd go vanilla ice style on this. Ning Ning Ning ninga ning Ning.
SOTD April 29, 2017 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick Adjustable injector Brush: Vulfix badger Lather: Arko Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Piacenza aftershave WTG, touch-up I probably won't shave tomorrow, so I went with an Adjustable Arko shave today. Results are good. Arko is a good soap for me, but I have much better in my den. You can't beat the price, and Samurai is showing us that the price is even better since it looks like a single stick will last forever. The Schick Adjustable provided a smooth ride on setting 7. Good shave in the end. Have a great weekend!
Razor: Portland Razor Co Chimera / Supply Provision Custom 3 dot head Blade: Chick Strop: Drygulch 45 Brush Handle: B-400 The Brush by Tom Knot: APShaveCo Tuxedo Soap: Eufros Jabonman GEA Post Care: Thayers Witch Hazel Alum Osage Rub Aftershave: Eufros Jabonman GEA balm Another wonderful and relaxing shave this morning. My first use of an Eufros product and I see why it is in such demand. The soap was easy to lather, offered great protection, a wonderful scent and was one of the slickest soaps I've ever used. Both razors just glided across my face. One pass with the Supply and two with the Chimera and I'm close to BBS. It's getting easier to use this Chimera. Alum was mostly silent, slight tickle on my lower neck. The Eufros balm was nice; not greasy with a wonderful albeit short lived scent. I've been directed to a cologne that matches this scent pretty closely that I need to order. Have a great day folks!

Great Lineup. The brass General is such a good razor it's hard to put down. I plan using the General most of May.
Thanks, guys. It is pretty stressful, but I have been to busy to worry about whether or not it was the right thing to do, and I actually had fun this week.
