I'd like that. Yes I am jealous and I remember it as a classic vintage A.S. Smells nicer than Skin-Bracer, I think(with 100% respect to Jack Palance). Do you have different "flavors" of it,or just the one you showed?
SHAVE OF THE DAY Prep: Musgo Real Classic Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic Blade: Gillette Black Brush: Maggard 30mm Black Synthetic Soap: Aulstrilian Private Reserve- Fougere Burbon Rose Post: F&C Black Powder, Royall Rugby EDT 3 pass shave this morning. First time with the APR soap, scent is nice and complex, not a strong rose scent but it is present and we'll blended with the other notes. The lather whipped up without problems and was very slick. So far it is a great first impression. This was also the first go with this monster of a brush. It had good backbone and so far so good. Finished off with Black Powder and threw on some Royall Rugby about an hour later, Rugby has a clean Vetiver type of scent that is just incredible plus it has decent staying power. Hope ereryone had a great shave!

Williams Wednesday's SE Shave Proraso Pre Shave Williams Mug Shaving Soap B 400 by Tom Ever-Ready 1914 CVS SE CWR Thayer's Lemon WH Barbasol AS I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the B 400 badger brush by Tom. I did the two passes with the Ever-Ready 1914 and CVS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Summer-like weather today so I broke out the perfect summer soap and aftershave, Stirling's Margaritas in the Arctic. Simpson's Chubby 2 Best whipped up the lather and spread it across my face. An Oristo razor with a new Feather removed the stubble.
Making her first appearance in the Den is my long sought after 1912 Sun Ray aka The Goddess. I need to do a little more research to find out what blades were used when she was made - the thicker spine traditional SE or the modern thinner spine. The blade holders are filled with the thicker version so I assume those are what was intended. This set is virtually NOS so they might even be the originals. So, I shaved with a vintage SE blade - stropped with my new Best-Tiz stropper - and it was a bit rough. Maybe it was just the quality of the blade dealing with 2 and half days of growth. To test this I played around with using a modern GEM with a shim as well. By the second pass the differences were less obvious - except the NOS blade was a lot noiser. All in all, a lovely shave from a real beauty. I think it is deserving of its great reputation. I've always liked Simpson's Best Badger. It is as good as other brand's high end silvertip. It is a really good three band, and it is packed so densely into the CH2. The true Wall of Badger. An added plus is that there was hardly any badger funk and that little bit was gone with a single lather.

I have the Original and the Fresh... I'm not aware of any others. Both are easy to find here in various stores and reasonably priced (under $2 I believe). You're right on the scent. I think it is better than Skin Bracer and my dad always used AFTA. If it's not available in your area, send me your address and I'll send you one of each.
