Not shave related, but ... (not actual pic of item, but could download decent pic) Thrifty as I am; my current ones were bought for my youngest son from Cabela's in 2009. In 2013 he gave them to me after receiving new ones. These LL Bean are NOS so will last me a while.
Waiting for my mechanical servants Simplex, two laptop power jacks, a bed of nails test replacement cord for my Fluke Butt Set, a fountain pen, and some more video converters. About to mail the guy about the fountain pen again. He asked for another week due to the holiday. Lots of stuff on my Ebay watch list, but I haven't pulled the trigger on most of them
Two each of Barrister and Mann Roam 5th anniversary soap, aftershave and edt. Gonna be John Wayne/Clint Eastwood cool for the foreseeable future......
As a follow-up, I received one of the two power jacks, the fountain pen, and the Mechanical Servant package.
Ya, only because I had other razors comments by in to keep me busy! He was very apologetic, I’m thinking he is just very very busy with the orders coming in. Gary
I don't think I've ever seen a Hoffritz Futur for sale, let alone at a good price. These were sold by Hoffritz NYC even before Merkur began direct sales in 1985, and the origin story is mysterious and controversial. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Congrats! I’ve seen a few and to be honest never really paid much attention to them. I’m happy with the Ming Shi version and the futur never really did anything for me. Now the vision... lol that’s a whooole different story! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The Futur is neither my favorite but I'm fascinated by some of this history and want to see how this early version compares to my QShave. To be honest the Vision looks like a preposterous design in terms of handling and has never interested me, especially at going prices. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Lol yeah it’s a monster looking design I’ve always just wanted to try it out. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Hoffritz. I believe it’s heavier than the Merkur futur Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's the first thing I'll check out. Not that anybody needs a razor heavier than the Merkur. The lighter QShave is just fine for me. Why Merkur decided to throw design/engine/tooling money into the Vision rather then fix what was wrong with the Futur is beyond me. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
This has been a brutal week for me as far as acquisitions go. Here are just a few of the things on my arriving soon list. 1918 Milady Decollete 1926 Milady Decollete 1956 Gillette British "59" Set 1953 Gillette Diplomat Late 1920's Kriss Kross stropper and razor. Not terribly exciting on this one, but the first time I have seen the razor with a box and instructions.
