Waiting for my mechanical servants Simplex, two laptop power jacks, a bed of nails test replacement cord for my Fluke Butt Set, a fountain pen, and some more video converters. About to mail the guy about the fountain pen again. He asked for another week due to the holiday.

Two each of Barrister and Mann Roam 5th anniversary soap, aftershave and edt. Gonna be John Wayne/Clint Eastwood cool for the foreseeable future......

 

As a follow-up, I received one of the two power jacks, the fountain pen, and the Mechanical Servant package.

 

Ya, only because I had other razors comments by in to keep me busy! He was very apologetic, I’m thinking he is just very very busy with the orders coming in.

I don't think I've ever seen a Hoffritz Futur for sale, let alone at a good price. These were sold by Hoffritz NYC even before Merkur began direct sales in 1985, and the origin story is mysterious and controversial.

Congrats! I’ve seen a few and to be honest never really paid much attention to them. I’m happy with the Ming Shi version and the futur never really did anything for me. Now the vision... lol that’s a whooole different story!

The Futur is neither my favorite but I'm fascinated by some of this history and want to see how this early version compares to my QShave. To be honest the Vision looks like a preposterous design in terms of handling and has never interested me, especially at going prices.

That's the first thing I'll check out. Not that anybody needs a razor heavier than the Merkur. The lighter QShave is just fine for me. Why Merkur decided to throw design/engine/tooling money into the Vision rather then fix what was wrong with the Futur is beyond me.

I think this is what your razor is although the handle is different. It’s a Gillette NEW

Late 1920's Kriss Kross stropper and razor. Not terribly exciting on this one, but the first time I have seen the razor with a box and instructions.
