Gentlemen I am beginning a new edge longevity test, this time with. Filly 14 DT. I got 50 good shaves out of a Cape 1000 Swedish Steel, hard steel. The Filly is a bit less hard, so it might seem that it wouldn’t hold an edge as well, but it will also respond to stropping more than harder steel - I think. I am 6 shaves in today. When you do these kinds of long term tests, you’re limiting the variety in your everday shaves, but I’m willing to take the hit of shaving with a Filly 14 for an extended period, for TSD of course, lol.

When I did the tests with the Cape, I used a 3-piece Kanoyama 80000, suede and leather 35/65 and added 20 canvas every week to help maintain the edge. This time I’m going 5-6 canvas every day then 35/65 as before.

Today was a Filly 14 user grade which shaves very well indeed. Cream was XPEC and the brush a Simpsons 57. D. R. Harris Pink topped the shave off.

    Cheers, Steve

Tonight's shave was with a "Bow Razor". I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, that left me near BBS, without touch-ups. Very nice performing razor. Zero issues.

Razor- "Bow Razor", by Wade and Butcher.
    Brush- Wilkinson Sword Boar
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood Scented
    Aftershave- Osage Rub

Today's shave was with a nice German razor. I had a glass smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS, with minor touch-ups around the chin. Zero issues, just a great razor.

    Razor- J.A.Henckels 50 1/2. Zwillingswerks, Solingen Germany.
Brush- Wilkinson Sword Boar. Excellent Brush, especially for $6.90.
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood scented
Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice. Admirals Decanter.
