1. Introducing my first attempt at making a handle. I am aiming for a somewhat organic feeling brush.

  2. Looks great @Joewa! The most common handle profile is turned on a lathe giving a symmetric shape. There's no rule says you have to do it that way. The antler handled brushes I've seen in SOTD photos accept the irregular natural shape as Nature supplied the material.

What species of wood? Is that a horse hair or synthetic knot?
  3. Looks good there, Joe. Just be careful you don't get BFD (Brush Fabrication Disorder). I started simply and am now over 325 brushes.
  4. The wood is Manzanita that had been culled by the carr fire fire, The knot is a synthetic 22 mm.

  18. Thanks.

Any particular brand? I have been using Renaissance Micro-Crystalline Wax Polish with good results. I will make a post once I get the brushes completed. Again, good work.

  19. I started with Howard Feed-N-Wax Wood Polish but have moved on to walrus oil wood wax its a bit less oily. If fate ever lines up I would like to try the Anarchist’s Daughter soft wax. it tends to sell out within an hour or two of being dropped on etsy.
