I think its good marketing. Probably most famous people are given one by Rolex just so they can say ' Hey look, the President wears Rolex , you should too'.

I have several and I have them because I like them .. I personally don't care who has one or how much they are worth.... I wear the watches i like and will buy more of the ones i want as they become available.

i enjoy classic Timex designs

 

And you usually don't need the day of the week, just the number.

 

They are changing the name of this watch. I think Weekender suited it just fine .
