The 450 year old shave!


Wednesday morning:

I went Dutch with De Vergulde Hand soap, deodorant spray, and the aftershave spray which I wish hadn’t been discontinued. The soap lathers so beautifully, I love the scent, but the only issue is that it’s not a very slick soap and it seems to dry my skin a bit, but the Bull Dog moisturizer took care of that very effectively. The matching aftershave smells exactly like the soap and the deodorant - to me it’s so manly, old school, beautiful. Another brilliant BBS shave!

Whew! Back to a 2 pass, minor touch-up, BBS shave this morning. Might ride this bunch for the next 3 days.

Cream: LaToja
Brush: Omega 10065 synthetic
Bowl: Dollar Tree salsa
Razor: RazoRock German 37 slant (switched out the bamboo handle for the bull dog)
Blade: Polsilver SI (1)
Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve

The mid-week shave or as it is commonly referred to “hump day”. Halfway to the weekend but still plenty to go. Merkur 34C is a nice and mellow choice and hasn’t been up in the rotation for a while. Loaded up with a Kai SS.

Cella and that lovely almond scent reminds me of Spring so why not that one today. Sold. Paired with the matching balm. Have to get around to trying the AS splash but the balm does impress.

Beautiful three pass shave. Smoothissimo! Topped off with some Acqua di Parma Colonia Essenza. Ahhhh hump day...got ya covered! Safe travels all.

SOTD, Wednesday March 4th 2020

Razor : Razorock Mission DE - 2010?>, one of my favorites for a DE.
Blade : Voskhod (2)
Soap: Nivea sensitive cream.
Brush : Yaqi rainbow brown whiskers 26mm- excellent brush.
Pre-shave : Brush wash my face with CeraVe hand bar soap + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on beard area.
Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 2.
Post shave : Nivea refreshing aftershave + witch Hazel +Nivea balm.
Results : CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = Good shave for a 2 pass with no cleanup-not aiming for BBS today or most days. The RR Mission will deliver a BBS if aiming for one.

That's quite a nice set. Totally jealous.

 

very good shave, with a "Plated Razor", that was cheap, and took a very nice edge, that @gssixgun put on it, a while back, after looking it over, and taking much of the corroded plating off. I had a very smooth, 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. A couple of weepers, that were the fault of a couple of bumps I "Had".
The brush was a custom made, from @jtspartan , that he donated in the raffle, and I won. Excellent brush.

Razor- The Palmer "41". Chicago. A hotel razor, probably sold to travelers, for advertising, and a quick buck, when they needed one on the spot.
Brush- @jtspartan Special, Omega Boar knot
Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy scented
Aftershave- Proraso "Red". Sandalwood scented.
