    timabababaluka No exceptions. Except.....

I got a sample balm of Dunshire in an order once--it was nice, but not nice enough to get me to purchase the soap. Sandpiper on the other hand...

Perhaps someone else can chime in--I have a cedar bias that steers me towards Sandpiper ;)

I just ordered the aftershave samples along with a couple others. That should give me a great idea. Thank you for the suggestion Edison Carte.

Hell i just got a 4pk of aftershave samples myself. I had to see what all of the Island Man hype was about. It definitely delivers. Also ordered Satsuma, Arkadia, and Glastonbury. All 4 of these are winners as far as aftershaves go. Also scooped up a Ben Franklin post shave balm on sale. I was pleasantly surprised with that scent as well.

Talk to me about weak scented soaps. I had a carry over Barbershop soap (actually cream) from WSP that I swear I can't get any smell out of the dern thing, whether from the tin or lathering up. But the buyers over there rave about it. In contrast I also have a carry over Tobacco cream from there that is medium strong and heavenly. So finally getting around to trying out Stirling's tobacco version, Stirling Gentleman, was expecting something pretty strong as well. But have used my sample 3 times now and still barely a scent. It's slightly better than the non-existent scented WSP Barbershop, but nowhere near the strength of WSP Tobacco. Don't mean to stir stuff up, but it surprised me, since tobacco (along with Aventus) are pretty much my fav scents. Is it me, or anybody else get that from Stirling Gentleman. Also want to try Executive Man SS. How strong scented is that?

I get a nice Tobacco&Vanilla scent from Gentleman. That's what it was meant for. Xecutive Man has a scent, but I couldn't quite find it satisfying. I mean, it's OK, but I wouldn't call it a favorite.

Try haverford. It's like a tobacco vanilla smack to the chops. Long lasting too.

I have the Haverford and it's very heavy on scent strength... Don't have the splash because I live in Europe. [IMG]

Are you guys getting any postal delays down in the lower 48? I've got a nice Stirling order sent out March 23rd from Ontario, Canada to Saskatchewan Canada that still hasn't arrived!

Well as you may know, if you follow this thread, I am trying to decide on my next purchase from Stirling. It was down to Dunshire and Sandpiper. So, I got aftershave samples from Stirling of both Dunshire and Sandpiper (among others). I put Sandpiper a/s on one wrist and Dunshire on the other wrist. I let them dry down some and then presented them to my Dear Wife and asked which she liked better. Without hesitation she picked the same one as I - Sandpiper. Which will be my very next purchase from Stirling. I just decided on my new way of picking which Soap and Aftershave I will buy when I'm ready. A shout out to Edison Carter for his suggestion.

Leave it to Mr. Cawtuh for those "technical" suggestions, John :). Glad your wife chose the 'Piper.

Well, Stoylin friends, it's that time again-we gather for Round 2 of this season's Stoylin Tony Awards. To begjn today's proceedings, I have to announce with great embarrassment, that I chose this date, thinking Patriot's Day was going to be on the 16th. I got the dates wrong, it's the 20th, but if ever there was a time to blow it on that special day in Massachusetts, this was it. Due to the Coronavirus inconveniences, there won't be any special events on the 20th. It's just....well, I'll use the Paul McCartney song title(and a good song too in my opinion) "Another Day". Anyway, without further ado, here we goooo!

The nominees for Round 2 ARE:

    Scots Pine Aftershave
    Piacenza Bodywash.

Next date-June 14. Flag Day. See ya then!
