Great shave report, Evan! I have a collectible VAS that I’ve never shaved Thanks, Tim, but it’s Jim (@jluc) who has Tom’s brush. My brush was made by Alpha Shaving out of Hong Kong. As far as enhancing the Stirling Glacials go, I just don’t find them cool enough!
It's been an eventful month for you, Evan! Also happy to see a slight change in technique is bringing you irritation free shaves--I'll take a no-burn DFS over a BBS w/irritation any day Excited to see how the replating goes on the VAS!
awesome shave Jim.i have this soap.i think it is orange flower more than the orange itself..i don't use it often..
I have the PAA Switchback. I believe the Alpha is Tom's brush. Thank you, Gary! The scent isn't my favorite. I'll give it another go to see if it grows on me. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
That's really strange--when the orange orchards are in bloom here, the fragrance is intoxicatingly sweet. Granted, that's probably the pollen I'm smelling and not the petals themselves.
Terrific shave Gary! I am not for globalization as far as my country losing its sovereignty. We should embrace our differences, politically and culturally so that we all don't cater to one global system.
Thanks Tim! Honing is an art and a skill that takes time to perfect. Just to set a bevel and get a shaving edge the first time out is a success. Now, knowing what a properly honed edge should feel like and to be able to assess to redo it is progress. Tomorrow, I will really see how I did with the partial redo by fine-tuning the edge.
absolutely, same here for me..i am tired of all the infighting.i am a grow up ,go to work and get along or get out type.i didn't create the past.people aren't born hating others,it's a learned thing.i am also about -if in canada be canadian ,don't bring your crap here..leave it where you left..or stay there..
Agreed! Assimilate into any country you decide to immigrate, but it is also fine to keep your native culture and language. Unfortunately, in the US, we have politicians that want to change our traditional culture that has been the foundation of my country from the start. They also welcome and applaud domestic terrorist groups like Antifa and the Muslim Brotherhood. It's not the same country that I grew up with as a young adult.
I ordered a black and turquoise dubl duck. I didn't order a knot with it. I'll be putting a 26mm TDR Fanchurian V6 in it. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
May 31--In the Mix/Mix-It-Up May DE Sunday Gear Razor: The Slim Jim Blade: Voskhod (1)--a frontrunner in my search for the next 100-pack Russian blade. There are others that are slightly sharper, but I doubt they’re any smoother. And the price; the other Russians have their work cut out for them! Brush: Semogue Boar Soap: Stirling Iced Pineapple (4 Frost Drops and prepared and chilled with ice water)--glorious! Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops AS: one part Pinaud Citrus Musk to 4 or 5 parts Aqua Velva Ice Blue (1 Frost Drop) Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented The Shave A luxury shave if ever there was one. Iced Pineapple chilled with ice water, bammed up a bam with a few additional Frost Drops, and whipped up into a super goop with the Semogue boar. Standard 3 pass shave (WTG/XTG/ATG) with no touch ups still got me completely BBS: a friend of cotton balls the world over, glassy, VBBS (all rights to ‘VBBS’ belong to Jeff-corp and its subsidiaries), epic, and even (someone distract Paul)... Top of the World Excellent. There have been times in the past when BBS has walked hand-in-hand with irritation--happy to say the two are complete strangers today. Life is good--enjoy your Sunday!
