MMMonday, OCtober 18th 2021 Razor: Gem Micromatic OC, Mfg 1930-41, excellent mid range, some blade feel, works as good as the day it was made. Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE (8) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable. Soap: Ogallala Bayrum with sandal wood, nice scent with good lather qualities, I load in my bowl and bring dryer lather to face and then add water as needed, it lathers in the bowl differently than most soaps I find. Brush: Yaqi Goblin 24mm synthetic, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice scrub + great lather painter. Pre shave: brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area. Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. Post shave: Witch hazel beard wipe down +Ogallala Bayrum with sandal wood + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizer balm(scentless) Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + minor irritation + no weepers = excellent shave with my MMOC + a coated Gem blade. Razor: Valet auto-strop, C1 mode, Canadian variant- Mfg 1920's, modified blade gab from 11/1000 to 7/1000 of a inch to smooth the shave with the Gem Personna SS PTFE, great shaves, interesting and well built for its day, blade keepers are the weakest point of the whole razor. 100's of thousands of these razors where sold world wide. Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(2) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable. Soap: Ogallala Bayrum with sandal wood-nice bayrum scent with a some clove + good lather qualities. I load from bowl and apply drier and add a little water as needed seems to work. Brush: Yaqi 22mm 2band badger, excellent lather generator, soft pillow like tips, excellent scrubber + good lather painter. It is designed more for a good scrubber this model IMO. Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area. Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. Post shave: Witch hazel, Ogallala Bayrum with Sandal wood + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizer balm.(scentless) Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Valet auto-strop with a coated gem blade. Have some great shaves!

DE SOTD, OCtober 23rd 2021 Razor: Gillette New Long comb, fat handle + Canadian variant-Mfg 1930's N.D.Codes, mid range, a lot of copper for what ever reason on top cap & handle & the rest is brass. I get really close shaves & have to be a little more careful with this razor. I have another one & it shaves better because of the ball end handle feel IMO. Blade: GSB(5) Excellent blade, sharp & smoooth with good longevity. One of my favorites. Soap: Speick, nice mild spicy scent with excellent lather qualities. You can get a great creamy lather if you play with it a little longer by applying to face and just paint and scrub a little after bowl lather loading.( I just press some in the bowl) Brush: Yaqi Atlantis 24mm synthetic, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, great scrubber + great lather painter. Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area. Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. Post shave: Ach Brito Lavanda with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizer lotion balm (scentless) Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + some irritation + 2 blemish weepers= excellent shave with my Gillette New OC with a GSB. Have some great shaves!
