Not very attached to the Old Timer, if you're interested, PM me. Turns out, I think it's 1990s vintage based on model #.
Just made a deal on one of these. Needs some cleanup but Imperial was U.S. made and it has what I want for work carry. Not sure how old.
I'm in the Kershaw Leek club. I also carry either a Victorinox Signature pen knife or a Victorinox Mini Champ. My favorites are the old scout-type knives by Imperial from the 1960s, called the Kamp King. But those are too big and bulky for me to carry every day. - Bax
Yep. I'm thinking about rigging a small caribiner on the bail so it can hang from the corner of the pocket (inside) instead of laying there like a rock.
Here are my assorted knives. Camp knives Whittler mainly Assorted Swiss Army Yes all blades are sharpened on these knives. A dull blade is a dangerous tool. I switch out every week on what I carry. Have carried a knife as long as I can remember. In the 70’s it was a Buck110 to school everyday. Times have changed. I have rebuilt maybe 20 of these. Some are waiting to get fixed and rescaled. The Imperial Ireland multiknife arrived. Hoo boy, it's got more going on than I expected...spearpoint, hawkbill, utility blade/stripper, flathead screwdriver/bottle opener, can opener, corkscrew, scissors, and a bail, and barely no heavier than the Camillus. AND it was U.S. made. Among the best $20 shipped I've spent, it's going to be daily carry. Highly recommended.
Last night I was handed a boxful of knives from my Ma. Glanced through them, Case, Buck, Vix, Hammer, several ancient no-names, a Coast Guard issue rope knife from WW2, it's quite the mix.
Just got back from Cabela's in Hamburg, PA. Picked up this Kershaw Scallion. I usually go more traditional, Case stockmans being my standard, but since I had the gift cards...
Is it cool to post a link to a blog? I'm going to anyway. https://wordpress.com/post/paperinkplan.wordpress.com/750 - this is a post to my blog about 3 of my important pocket knives.
@Troy M - It looks like you posted a link to your wordpress login screen. This link should be the one you wanted. https://paperinkplan.wordpress.com/2022/07/10/the-tale-of-three-knives/
This little Buck Vantage is the main knife I carry now (despite my last post). Great Buck steel and it has a lock blade and pocket clip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My EDC used to be a Laguiole (top). But lately it started to annoy me that it didn't have a pocket clip so it slids to the bottom of my pocket. So I exchanged it with a Haller which I got for a bargain since it was a demonstration model (centre). I did add a Kwik Thumb Stud. Works like a charm! The EDC I use for small cutting jobs like opening boxes, cutting cords and eating dinner. I use a ceramic sharpening rod to keep the edge keen. For DIY chores and such I carry the Homey, some 'el cheapo' thingy (bottom)
An old Holub electricians knife is inbound. Hawkbill/screwdriver with delrin handles, just needs a little TLC.
