  1. Thanks Joe and Joe, I remember liking the Platinums before and will use them more regularly from now on.
  2. Hi John, thanks for the comments and your unbiased opinion. Lots of variable from day to day with our shaves, but as I mentioned to both Joe and Joe above, I liked the Platinums previously, and these will be a staple or reference point, certainly with my Gillette razors.

    Next thing is try them in some other razors!

    Hope you had/are having a great weekend.
  3. Thank you Joe...The leftover VDH & Erasmic makes a great lather... Enjoy your Sunday.

  6. cool shave and pic Chris.you won't feel much difference between the red tip and hd: the hd was the early red tip per se,similar blade exposures compared to a regular rocket or flare tip.the platinum is a smoother blade than a treet.treet blades are rusty bean can lids in comparison,unless your face is textured like sandpaper.;):eatdrink047:
  7. fantastic sunday affairs gents.:cool::bounce017:
  8. wife made it home safe.with a cool score..a-l flare tip,L-1 flare tip,canadian e-2 injector,ans 2 full blade dispensers.check out the old astra blade that was in one of the flare tips.:):eatdrink047:

  11. Very nice of her! Great looking flare tips. Didn't realize they come with different handle and tip designs.
  12. :Dthere really isn't much difference shave wise between most gillettes to be honest..;):eatdrink047:just the length of whisker each will knock down per pass.ie.beard reduction.

  14. thank you Chris.i am stoked.can't wait to try them. the L-1 is the last of the all brass ones,1966 was the same year the black handle ones were introduced.:)it also has the slim head like the black handle ones.very efficient..check out the height difference
    between the 2.slim head L-1 on left

  18. thank you Joe.the L-1 is quite hard to find compared to others.as it shares the year with the black handle version .the slim and tech probable outsold the flaretip at this point also,.only those who were there would know..;):eatdrink047:
  19. Hmmm. "Made in Czechoslovakia" must be a rare marking on an Astra razor blade. I wonder what year that dates to? Czechoslovakia was part of the Warsaw Pact "Iron Curtain" until late 1989, then split to become Slovakia and the Czech Republic in 1992....
  20. very cool.it was in one of the razors.i am going to dull the edges and display it somehow..:):eatdrink047:
