Good morning all.
With a new scale and set of calibration weights, I'll report how it went.
The new scale has a non linear calibration error of .03 grams from 0 to 100 grams, so I deemed it close enough for this experiment.
I weighted each item individually then used the tare function to zero out the brush and measuring spoons for product weight.
I also rounded up to the next value that could be measured with common household items.
So for example, 1.15 ml rounds up to 1.25 ml or 1/4 teaspoon.
The victim was Proraso Red.
The results.
If I only did a 2 pass shave on the face.
I got good lather that I liked with 7 ml of distilled water and 1.25 grams of shaving soap.
This came out to almost 1.25 ml or 1/4 teaspoon of soap.
I do a 2 pass head and face shave (my daily routine) it requires 20 ml of distilled water and 3.75 ml of soap or 3/4 teaspoon.

Above is a picture of the end results.
The shaving lather needs a little more mixing but you can see what I used for common comparison.
Measuring the soap I have left in my container (almost full) and doing some quick math it should last for 29 more shaves.
Or almost 3 months of 2 pass shaves of the mug only.
Why did I do this??
That's a very good question....
But regardless, the morning shave wii be a nice one.
