    48 hours stubble
    Prep = CWR x 3
    Preshave = my Proraso Blue Preshave is finished: so I used the Tabac-in-a-tube as a preshave while lathering up
    Cream = Tabac in a tube
    Brush = Old Vulfix
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Gillette OC No 46 Popular
    Blade = Gillette Platinum Blue (1): I keep coming back to this blade so I guess I need to buy more

    Three passes plus a few touch ups XTG and ATG as needed
    No damage was done, lovely 9/10 shave
    Post = usual CWR, Alum was good, CWR, Thayers, then a light splash of Tabac ASL
    Scent = Guerlain Pour Homme combined beautifully with the Tabac, wife's seal of Approval

    Have a great Thursday one and all..

    I am going to need to work on this bowl lathering deal. I likely will pull out a tube of Proraso and try it with a cream instead of Arko. I just can't seem to get it slick. Perhaps I need to add more water. My lather is thick and dense but not slick. Any tips?

    Most safety razor shavers don't work the lather enough while doing a bowl lather and that's why they get that voluminous, fluffy and high structure lather. They think that it provides a cushion. To get a really super slick lather, you have to be patient and add water a little at a time until it shines and it is creamy. When you tap the brush on your face, you will see nice peaks and that tells you that you have a nice, slick lather. I am a straight razor shaver so I need my lather to be slick and this bowl method works for me. Sometimes, I will still add water the tips of the brush while I am still lathering my face if I don't think it's slick enough for me. I made a video on bowl lathering so you can actually see what I do to get a nice lather. I want to say that my method is not the all end all way to make a bowl lather, however, this may give you a good foundation to get a good bowl lather.
