1. A ray gun, of course.

  2. A .22 Ruger Mark IV Standard ray gun. I would NEVER shoot that at my quilt unless a Martian was hiding in it ...or Elmer Fudd, during Elmer season.

BTW, I finished the quilt first.
  3. My old Snapper lawn tractor that I’ve used for 25 years finally, and completely died. So today I bought a new lawn tractor, a Cub Cadet zero turn, and cut my lawn this afternoon. Using a zero turn certainly is different from a traditional lawn tractor with a steering wheel. But after going around my lawn a couple of times it was starting to become more intuitive to use, and I can see the advantages of a zero turn.

  4. Preparing for Hurricane Francine. Not happy right now
  5. Hauled logs and felled trees into the middle of the field yesterday with the tractor. Today I need to cut them all into 4-foot lengths or so with my chainsaw, then pile them up to burn. It'll be quite a bonfire, so I'll wait until it's about to rain, or maybe wait until the first snow, before ignite it.

  12. Hurricane Francine update!! Came through last night with lots and lots of rain with pretty good winds too. We were very fortunate as we didn't lose power, no house flooding and roofs are ok. The chicken coop area has about 6" of standing water so maybe the chickens will morph into ducks (lol). The beehives are fine also. So, overall, we came out great. Now for the water to go down.
  13. For a long time, I pronounced it "REE Gun"(I think he did himself earlier). I figured I should respect the "A" and pronounce it.

  16. I swapped out my indoor & outdoor bows. The indoor season is beginning. You may wonder why I need different bows for each shooting season & what makes a bow an indoor or outdoor bow.
1)The shooting distances are very different- much farther outdoors .
    2) My newer bow shoots faster, so I use it for the outdoor distances, where the speed makes more of a difference. (They are always marketing bows that shoot at higher speeds, so the newer one is almost always the faster one.)
    3) I keep a separate sight for each- they are set for the different distances.
    4) You use thinner, lighter arrows outdoors, so I had to swap those too.
    5) I use narrower stabilizers outdoors, since they are less prone to being buffeted by the wind.

Swapping all that stuff involves laying both bags on the floor to switch stuff. This is not fun for my antique knees.
