  1. You need a bigger brush if you want the donut of death to appear.
Frijolero, blondblue and Primotenore like this.
  2. Happy 4th of July to my USA friends!

This week the donut of death has made an appearance.

From left to right: My Joe Edson prison shank razor, a brush I can't remember the name of other than it came from Europe, A new addition to the stank collection, a vintage tester of Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur. Joris loaded with a feather for a quick shave, a Rooney brush and the infamous Musk Koublaï Khan. For the watch afficianados, that is a Grand Seiko Spring drive with the winter dial.

TGIF, an 8/8 Wacker Hunstman was the steel of choice, love the look, love the edge. Vintage Brut, wonderful juice. One of several great brushes from Jason @jtspartan. I thought I may have to do a quick dive down the Mariana Trench, or did I just want the excercise. That monster watch is Helberg with a domed crystal and rated to a depth that no human could survive.

Figaro Sapone Speciale~~Simpson CH2 Synthetic Badger~~2011 Mühle R41~~YSL Kouros Cologne Sport
At this rate, it'll be fall ere I finish this soap.
    Oh well, c'est la vie.
At least it's a terrific soap.
Was gifted this small bottle of
Kouros Cologne Sport a while back.
Interesting flanker to the stank of all stanks.
  4. Weekend variety shaves.

On the left is my Saturday shave. A date night so AoS cream, this stuff is top notch in smell and peformance. An elk antler brush and a big fancy Revisor razor to give that macho but classy felling all topped of with Creed GIT. Sunday was subdued but another great cream, Proraso. Joris razor with a Feather blade topped off with another Creed product.

Keith said I needed a bigger brush, so I scored this amazing Shavemac.

Taking a photo of the same soap every shave is yawn.
Until further notice, the 3017 is still in progress.
No doughnut hole, despite a huge
    brush.
Gotta break out and stick with the soap destroyer.

    Eureka!
    Doughnut hole made its appearance!
  8. That is what I was talking about. Please proceed.
  9. See, once you went large with the Shavemac and the Chubby to the donut of death made it's appearance.
  10. Some how managed to delete the past week's shave pics. All that survided was the shave with an Iwasaki JWest and vintage Brut.

  12. Sunday variety shave:

This Dovo was my first nice straight razor, still a joy to use and always takes a gread edge.... and I can never get the pins tight enough to my liking. In the bowl is Sterling bug repellent (Electric Sheep).

    Pic - 2.jpeg

Monday back to the 3017 focus:
I decided to take my own advice this week and go big, a Kent BLK12 monster brush. Hopefully I will put a bid dent in the Awesome Sauce this week. Dovo again, this beauty still has an excellent factory edge.
    Pic - 1.jpeg
  13. Dove and big brush madness week continues: This 6/8 is unusual in that is stainless steel, honestly I have never been able to tell the difference apart from stainless and carbon steel when honing nor shaving. Please do not share this the straight razor community. The Simpson PL-12 is a monster of brush. Classica is famous stank amongst opera tenors.

    Pic - 1.jpeg

Today I have an early skin care appointment, this is South Korea after all. No time for straight razor shave, instead I loaded a russian blade in my Janus Toggle. The Simpson Chubby 2 may not be tall in stature but it's a soap eating brush. Wanted to transport myself for Korea for a few moments, Neroli Portofino and I emagined myself on the Amalfi coast.

    Figaro Sapone Speciale~~Paladin PK-47 38/100~~1947 Gillette Super-Speed~~Alt Innsbruck
This 3017 ranks right up there with my MdC and MWF.
    The
    Paladin knot is outstanding.
    The Super-Speed was spectacular.
    The Alt Innsbruck was stupendous.
Other than that, just an ordinary shave.

Figaro Sapone Speciale~~Shavemac D01~~1958 D3 Gillette Adjustable~~Vintage YSL Opium Pour Homme
    Back to the 3017.
Sacrificed the doughnut hole to transfer the soap into my Aesop SS shave bowl.
The advantage here is that I can use my largest brushes to load even MORE product.
    The Shavemac knot is
ridiculous. Leans to the floppy, but in the end delivers the goods.
Vintage Opium Pour Homme for the win. :happy036:
