Saturday, July 12 Figaro Sapone Speciale~~Simpson CH2 Synthetic Badger~~Detroit National Cut. Co.~~Lalique Pour Homme Lion Eureka! Doughnut hole made its appearance!
See, once you went large with the Shavemac and the Chubby to the donut of death made it's appearance.
Some how managed to delete the past week's shave pics. All that survided was the shave with an Iwasaki JWest and vintage Brut.
Sunday, July 13 Figaro Sapone Speciale~~Rubberset 400/3~~Gillette New SC/Wizamet Iridium Super~~Amouage Search
Sunday variety shave: This Dovo was my first nice straight razor, still a joy to use and always takes a gread edge.... and I can never get the pins tight enough to my liking. In the bowl is Sterling bug repellent (Electric Sheep). Monday back to the 3017 focus: I decided to take my own advice this week and go big, a Kent BLK12 monster brush. Hopefully I will put a bid dent in the Awesome Sauce this week. Dovo again, this beauty still has an excellent factory edge.
Dove and big brush madness week continues: This 6/8 is unusual in that is stainless steel, honestly I have never been able to tell the difference apart from stainless and carbon steel when honing nor shaving. Please do not share this the straight razor community. The Simpson PL-12 is a monster of brush. Classica is famous stank amongst opera tenors. Today I have an early skin care appointment, this is South Korea after all. No time for straight razor shave, instead I loaded a russian blade in my Janus Toggle. The Simpson Chubby 2 may not be tall in stature but it's a soap eating brush. Wanted to transport myself for Korea for a few moments, Neroli Portofino and I emagined myself on the Amalfi coast.
Wednesday, July 16 Figaro Sapone Speciale~~Semogue Boar~~Gillette New SC/Wizamet Iridium Super This is the soap that never ends...
Thursday, July 17 Figaro Sapone Speciale~~Paladin PK-47 38/100~~1947 Gillette Super-Speed~~Alt Innsbruck This 3017 ranks right up there with my MdC and MWF. The Paladin knot is outstanding. The Super-Speed was spectacular. The Alt Innsbruck was stupendous. Other than that, just an ordinary shave.
Saturday, July 19 Macduffs Prairie Blooms~~Wald S1~~1941 Gillette Ranger Tech~~Lilac Vegetal A much needed change of pace. Primo happy.
Sunday, July 20 Figaro Sapone Speciale~~Shavemac D01~~1958 D3 Gillette Adjustable~~Vintage YSL Opium Pour Homme Back to the 3017. Sacrificed the doughnut hole to transfer the soap into my Aesop SS shave bowl. The advantage here is that I can use my largest brushes to load even MORE product. The Shavemac knot is ridiculous. Leans to the floppy, but in the end delivers the goods. Vintage Opium Pour Homme for the win.
Tuesday, July 22 Figaro Sapone Speciale~~2010 Mühle R41~~Semogue TSN Final Edition 1/50~~St. Johns Bay Rum Yes, there's still soap in there.
Massive Catch up: When I a too lazy to strop a razor but want a straight razor shave, load my Tadulus with a Feather Pro is my solution. IMHO this is the best shavette, my Feather DX has not seen the light of day since I got this razor. In the bowl is my summer bug replent soap, Electric Sheep. When I don't have time and I want a quick but epic shave, Cobra Classic is my go to, always a blood free quick excellent shave. No time in the morning two days in a row, so Cobra Classic again. Feeling like a dandy this morning so a very decorated Revisor and Creek Tambarome to complete my transformation.
When you choose Primo, you choose The Veg. BTW, I have had three bottles of Black Afgano over the years. Had to sell them all. Dr. Mrs. Primo cannot abide with the stank of that stank.
Thursday, July 24 Yes, I used the Figaro, but the brush was the high point. Mamma mia, this is my new #1 brush.
